@dingo said in NZ Provincial Barbarians v B&I Lions (Whangarei, 3 June 2017):

You got to say that Bryn Gatland is (so far) not doing his future chances of a super contract any harm.

I know that is a double negative, so i'll just say he looks OK

Quite odd. He's shown a shitload more than he has for the blues. I guess it's a level down...

Sexton should have stayed at home.
    Hogg pretty rusty.
Don't know why they're not making more use of their scrum dominance.

Faletau and Te'o the only ones catching my eye.

Barbarians special, and if leading at half time, they get to down a beer in the break?

What a steaming pile of shit from the Lions.

To pick up a lamented point from @Chris-B earlier, this is Clayton McMillan coached team with 4 BoP players... and it's been several years since we've had anything to cheer about.

I had this down as an 80 point thrashing.

I think you guys are being a bit unfair on the Lions. By the looks of it, I'll paraphrase and modify my previous post.

Lions look like a scratch team of good players.

NZ Barbarians look like a team of average NZ players (that aren't in a squad) that the NZRFU has quietly payed for a lot of training time for.

The Bay better have a bloody good season this year then...

To think that the Prov Baabaas only assembled last Sunday. They've had less than a week together.

@Donsteppa The Bay players in this NZB team know what the biggest game of the season is...and it isn't against the other bay.
