Mate, that is the only way I watch stuff; 0 distractions.<br />
<br />
You mention my taste and then mention you think Penelope Cruz is hot...pfft, I spit back! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />
<br />
Charlize Theron in Monster, that ruined her hotness<br />
<br />
No love for Penelope aye? At least with Monster you know she doesn't actually look like that - Cruz looked exactly the same, it was an acting masterclass that Daniel Day-Lewis could only dream of. -
Watched the Terra Nova movie-length premiere and thought that it was pretty fun. Jurassic Park meets Lost. Was disappointed to see that Fox havenâ€
t confirmed whether the show will come back for a second season despite stating that it the show made a profit. Hopefully this isnâ€
t some tactic to see if they can create yet another “Save Show X†campaign.<br />
Terra Nova officially canceled today. -
I must say that I am loving Justified, I'm unsure why I took so long to carry on watching it (no spoilers please, I'm still on the first season) - it has the right blend of drama, comedy, good performances etc and I'm quite taken by the ex wife, and it has a wicked theme song.<br />
Watching weekly, the third season is about 60% done here. You will really enjoy the second season, Margo Martindale is amazing in it and won an Emmy Award for her work in the show. I am more partial to Ava Crowder than Winona, but if she butters your bread, google image search her. I believe she "starred" in a few episodes of Hung. Not at work, of course! I really enjoy the writing and dialogue in Justified, and am a big fan of Olyphant (from Deadwood and Damages), and love Walton Goggins from his time in The Shield. He plays such a great redneck hillbilly shitkicker (see the Shield and Justified) -
There is something about Eva, but I'm more partial to Winona...but ol' Mrs Bennet is pretty good alright!<br />
<br />
Yeah Boyd is a great character alright, in fact there are a few good ones.<br />
<br />
Mrs TR didnt watch S1 but has really gotten into S2. -
Anyone heard anything about a show called "Touch" (i think), stars Jack Bauer, about some psychic kid who can predict the future or something? I don't don't know the ad was a bit all over the shop, but it looked pretty cool. Seems Channel 10 are picking it up here, and they are in my good books after "Homeland"
-
They only showed one episode of Touch a month or so ago as a sneak look. They are repeating that pilot episode this Thursday (in the US), and then new episodes will start on next Thurs the 22nd. First episode was nothing special.<br />
<br />
More important news: New Community this Thursday. O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! -
started on Sherlock last night, I like it, good humour, I like the way can see how he comes to his deductions as well, as far fetched as some may seem
-
Just finished watching all 5 seasons of 'The Wire'. Thanks to all for the recommendation, enjoyed it a lot (even season 5). My favourite series has to be 4, as I really liked the kids, closely followed by the Polacks of season 2.<br />
<br />
Favourite characters, well it has to be Omar. But I liked Major Cole, Bunk, Lester, Marlo, Prez, Michael (and the rest of the kids), Snoop and sheeeeeeeeeeeeeet, even Senator Clay. McNulty, not so much, but I understand his role as the troubled central character. Season 4 was better because we had to deal with less of McNulty's demons.<br />
<br />
My first impression wasn't that positive when I watched the first episode, as I thought it was going to a stereotypical, gangsta, drug, but I am glad I perservered, because I was hooked after episode 3.<br />
<br />
May have to check out Homeland now. -

I must say I'm not enjoying season 2 as much as season 1 (which I kept wanting to watch ep after ep). I'm finding it a bit disjointed (5 eps in), I don't find Martindale amazing but just annoying. I like it when it focuses on Raylin and Boyd the most, not so much on the Bennetts'.<br />
<br />
In saying that I'm going to keep watching and I expect it will improve as the arc grows over the season. Winona is still hot! -
It is more like The Wire, with the Crowders being the Barksdales. They were the main focus of Season One, and are always part of the underlying show. But the subsequent two seasons both have a different overiding main story/focus. -
anyone know why Bones is having a 2 month or so break mid-season?<br />
<br />
It ended rather abruptly on TV last night, but was listed as the finale, checking IMDB lists further episodes in the series but the next episode not due until April in the US I expect.<br />
<br />
I see we have our first spin-off form it in the form of The Finder (when I saw the episode of Bones with this lot I thought it seemed like a pilot of sorts) looks watchable...<br />
<br />
Am enjoying Person of Interest, first episode was probably the most far fetched of what I've seen so far, and while the whole concept may seem far fetched to some, I dont think it is particularly. Calviezel is a good actor too. -
US TV Season runs from early September to late May. But most shows only have 22 or so episodes. Usually there are new episodes in November, February, and May sweeps periods which are used to establish advertising rates based on viewing numbers, as well as September when the new season starts. The rest of the time, they mix in repeats and new episodes, usually a few grouped together to span the extra weeks.<br />
<br />
Alternatively, they run two shows in the same slot. Once they finish the first shows run, they will run a 13 episode cycle of a second show. Usually, to introduce a new series. In this case, Touch is running in place of Bones. Fox especially has to do this, as they only program two hours a day of prime time TV versus CBS/NBC/ABC programing 3 hours a day. And their schedule s even tighter when American Idol is stealing 3 - 4 hours a week of their time slots. -

Bloody American Idol!! Hate that shit (and all the similar spin offs)<br />
<br />
As far as I know, this is the first break they've had for Bones (well that has affected the showing in NZ anyway) I wonder if it is to do with the fact that
Bones & Booth finally hooked up rather than the old will they wont they and it has affected the viewer numbers??
-
phew, thanks for the update, was worried someone had killed you or worse, you had become an Aussie!!!

Keep watching, Nepia. She turns out to be a fearsome woman and repercussions lead into the next season.<br />
<br />
I prefer Ava to Winona. Ava's fiesty and loyal. Winona is a bit scatty and flighty. <br />
<br />
BTW: I gave up on Homeland. I didn't like a single character in there and didn't care what happened to them. I've been watching all the Spartacus B grade crap instead. Excellent.<br />
<br />
Haven't watched The Wire, but will. Ended up watching Alphas with our lad. It was okay. -
watched the final episode of Sherlock, given some of the finale's this year, this one was pretty good.<br />
<br />
Will be interesting to see how this pans out, but you knew Sherlock was upto soemthing earlier, and while MOriaty shot himself, it just seemed to easy?
