It shits me that BB even gets moved at all during a game. But if they're going to move him back at a stage of the game when he usually cuts loose then they might as well have him at 15. He's arguably the best back under the high ball in NZ and is an excellent last man defender. In fact the better tactic would be to start him at 15 and then move him to 10 when things open up a bit.

That is interesting. I guess the best thing is to keep him at 10 then

Not read Gatland's comments, but Kaino has ploughed through Murray's standing leg. Mis-judged/timed rather than malicious, but dangerous all the same imo.

Nah, not really. Aware Faletau's not in this shot, but there was very little contact with him and Kaino is never going to reach the ball. No big deal, but it's on Kaino for me. Each to their own though.

@Margin_Walker Faletau not in the shot? Okaaaay....who's the guy in the red 8 shirt? No wonder the lions are complaining, obviously NZ are sending out randoms to pretend they're lions players and cheat to try and bring down the lions! Disgraceful.

I just remember Kaino coming from the opposite side to charge down a right-footed box kick from Murray but he never got there in time so ended up collecting Murray's feet after he had already kicked the ball.

Making contact with the non kicking foot , the planted foot , at the time of kicking is a penalty in the NRL now , deemed dangerous ,
Be interesting to see if they do the same in union
slightly different aims and actions between the two games though. In league you've generally got a guy with a 10m run up going flat out at the kicker, trying to pressure a mistake, and rarely trying to charge the ball (6 again!). Can't say I've seen a heap of injuries from charging kicks in rugby to require a rule tweak
@mariner4life I only remember one occasion, TKBs kicking knee got injured in maybe 2014 in SA becouse someone hit it while trying to charge down the kick. They then ended up with Colin Slade at half back for the last ten or so.

Yeah, have seen that. Very little contact for me and Kaino has to do better.
Kaino's even come out today and said he got his timing wrong and it wasn't his intention to target his planted foot. Which is fair enough and case closed for me.

Yep, contact will have an impact on his direction. I just think Kaino had time to avoid that contact though (and he seems to admit as much). Aware I'm obviously swimming against the tide here though and am not really fussed about labouring the point any more.

It's a forum, sometimes opinions on match incidents differ. I didn't raise it, it was being discussed, but I won't bother in future.

jesus. At least Brian's was a legit incident that actually injured a player. JK and the ABs are being persecuted for a hypothetical.
Not only that, but a hypothetical that, had it even somehow eventuated, wouldn't have resulted in even a penalty, let alone any further sanction.
