Agreed, a good season ruined in an extra long finale, still it was probably better than the crap season that had a good finale in the previous 'Irish' season.

Never heard of Confession, just looked it up and it has two pretty big names in Sutherland and Hurt.

in a bit of a lull in terms of series (have stopped The Wire about half way through S1 for now as I wasnt getting into it, may try again later) so had started watching Whitechapel on TV1 (turned out it was the 2nd series) a UK Crime Drama.

Quite enjoyed it, another of thier 3 episode series, no real names in it, but a few faces I've seen before.

Sky have announced that they will be showing GoT Series 2 within 48 hrs of its US release.

I guess this is one of their flagship shows for getting subs on SoHo and they have finally woken up to the need to supply quickly or folks will watch it through other means. They were far to slow in showing GoT 1 and many people had already seen it before they screened it.
At least it is an improvement.
I liked it, wasnt a wow one, but they are gonna have to manage the new characters well and squeeze it all in

Did anyone get around to Hell on Wheels?
I've watched up to ep4 and haven't made my mind up yet. It's very well made and believable yet also a touch drawn out. Waiting for it to change gear.

So also got S1 and S3, good crime series, S1 & 2 are only 3 eps each while S3 is 6, S1 & 2 deal with thier own storyline for the series, while S3 has 1 per 2 episodes, good characters and some dark (and familiar) storylines.

It is more like The Wire, with the Crowders being the Barksdales. They were the main focus of Season One, and are always part of the underlying show. But the subsequent two seasons both have a different overiding main story/focus.
The back end of S2 was definitely good. Although I think they were a bit off with their characterisation of Dickie by the end. If someone tells me how to do the spoiler I'll say why.
When we first meet him he seems to be quite competent and on to it as a criminal yet as the series progressed he just became even a caricature useless criminal much like Dewey - which made it funny for me to see them together in S3.
I'm nearly mid way through S3 and enjoying it so far. I do like Neil McDonough - although it's funny that he's become a standard bad guy after portraying Buck Compton.

I think the back story is what makes the show so good.

Cheers TR re: spoiler, this will make things easier when discussing shows!

Straight back into it with GoT. Still setting up the story after two episodes but good to watch while doing so.

Not sure how I managed to see Ep2 as I see it is only just showing now in the US....but I found it and watched it days ago.

I'm quite enjoying Hell on Wheels about 6 episodes in. a few cartoon characters but the leads have enough depth to make up for it. The settings/ Scenes are (I imagine) very realistic. A lot of effort has gone into the show and has led me to reading more about the actual story of the railroad which is very interesting.

I now officially reckon Hell on Wheels is worth watching. Once I hit about ep6 I watched the rest in quick time.
Now I can't wait for Series 2.
It took a little while to find its feet IMO but once it did it was very good. Some beautiful scenery along with the story too.

Ok, people so I've just about finished the latest series of Justified and I want to watch a new series. I have three series that are considered classics and I've watched two episodes of each and then stopped - for some reason I couldn't get into them but I'm now going to give one an entire series watch. I can't decide which one to watch so thought I would throw it over to the collective wisdom of the Fern.

So in alphabetical order the series are:
Breaking Bad
Deadwood
Mad Men

So which one do you think I should watch next?

    You should watch Sleeper Cell.

You'd probably like Deadwood the most out of those 3.
Yep, mariner fully update on GG (is that how the cool kids say it?).

Deadwood ahead 1 - 0 at the moment.

Tim: Yep, I will watch Sleeper Cell at some stage.
