Ridiculous money for Blake Griffin, 5 year $173m to stay at the Clips. I'm surprised they could get the insurance for that contract given his injury record.

Loving this offseason so far. Still amazing that Jimmy Buckets is going to the T-Wolves.

What will Heywood do? Boston and Miami knocking on the door big time.

I read somewhere that Boston are the frontrunners for Heywood.

Quite pleased Griffin isn't coming to the Suns but by jingo, that young back court does need some help up front.

OKC has acquired Paul George from the Pacers in a trade for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis. A good move to take some of the scoring pressure off Westbrook but George is a free agent after next season.

OKC are also talking to Rudy Gay.

Westbrook is off contract at the end of next season too

Last throw of the dice before hitting the reset button in OKC.

Or a show of intent they are serious about contending.

The Western Conference is getting even stronger with these trades. GSW will be paying heaps of luxury tax with their max contracts.

I think they need to show serious intent in order to get Westbrook to sign his supermax extension confident that OKC want to make moves to contend

Great move by the 76ers, you have to think they're a live playoff chance with the East to West talent drain continuing.

Also good to see the Aussies getting paid, with Patty Mills and Joe Ingles both staying with Spurs and Jazz for 10m+ a season.

Talk of Carmelo going to the Cavs or Rockets. That'd make either of those teams super teams

How much will the guy move the needle these days? He can still give you 20 points a night, but he is ball dominant and he can't play defence anymore (unless he's been foxing a-la James Harden two years ago)

The Bulls have waived Rondo. Not surprising but it's funny looking back at all the preseason talk going into the 2016-17 season, Bulls were seen as a playoff side with a starting 5 of D Wade, Butler, Rondo, Lopez and Gibson - it has been a diabolical 'experiment'.

Gibson jumped ship and played a role at OKC, Butler's gone and D Wade may not see the season out but they still owe him $24m.

I don't mind Melo. He's an excellent spot up shooter and has become less and less of a ball hog. He played pretty well with Porzingas, but what a debacle of a season for the Knicks.

You wouldn't want to lose too many assets to get him though

@canefan Melo has a couple of creepy crawlers in his contract that would require him taking a hit or some team stumping up. On the Knicks, rumours circling about D Rose wanting to go the the Bucks.

Tomorrow seems to be D Day for Gordon Heywood. His Jazz team mate George Hill looks to be in demand and for big money too.

The talk around Galinari and Millsap and the money on offer is crazy.

@ACT-Crusader yup. Phil Jackson put a no trade clause in his contract so if they want him out and he doesn't want to go they have to buy him out

Things are getting very interesting. As a OKC man I have a lot to be happy about for at least the next 12 months. Paul George was a massive trade for us. We are suddenly a top 3-2 team in the West. Happy days.

They might try and get one more 2nd tier player to add to the Russ PG Adams/Kanter core that could make them stronger still. Worse case scenario Russ and PG leave (assuming Russ hasn't already signed his extension) and they are left with Adams' big contract and a bunch of cap space

Sucks for the Jazz, and you think they are at risk of dropping out of the playoff race without Hayward. Who carries their scoring load? Rubio, Ingles, Hood, Johnson aren't accumulators, and while Gobert and Favors are quality bigs they can't contribute more than 20pts a game each.

They might look to pick up some scraps from the Celtics but it might not be enough in a loaded Western Conference.

As for the Bucks, I think Rose would be a good play for us. He's injury-prone and a shadow of his former self, but he put up good numbers in NY and we really lack a score-first PG to take the pressure off Giannis and Jabari. DRose can be a good veteran presence to guide Brogdon and Maker as they develop.

@barbarian Not a huge fan of the D Rose to Bucks rumours. Brogdon and Delly are better to be building around I reckon.

I'm hearing that Jazz are looking to offload Favors. Gobert really needs to stop being foul prone and provide a more reliable scoring threat.

So it looks like a three team sign and trade deal is done that has Gallinari going to the Clippers on big money, Jamal Crawford and Diamond to the Nuggets and Hawks get a 2018 draft pick and cash. Man Crawford has played for a bunch of teams in his career.

@raznomore apparently CJ Miles in a trade possibility to go to OKC. It's only chatter, but that would add a very nice piece.

ACT- depends the price we pay for Rose. If we can get a bargain then great, I think he could fit in nicely. If not then I'm happy to leave him alone.

Man the west looks so hot next year. Outside of the Lakers, Phoenix and maybe the Mavs and Pelicans, every team has a live playoff chance. You'd sort them into three tiers:

    The untouchables (Warriors)
    Probables (Rockets, Spurs, OKC)
Possibles (Blazers, Clips, Kings, Jazz, Nuggets, Grizzlies, Wolves)
