Bret Easton Ellis talks to Walter Hill:

Ever wonder about the story behind the M60 tank police chase in San Diego?
It involved a suburban backyard goldmine and a lot of meth.

I'd encourage everyone to get around the new ESPN 30 for 30 podcast series. Listened to the first one yesterday and it's one of the best things I've heard in a long time. The style of the TV series transfers well, and the story they pick is really interesting. Hope the quality can continue.

I don't concentrate very hard when listening to podcasts so tend to soak up the light-hearted ones. Kevin Pollak's Chat Show has put out more than 300 episodes. Surprisingly, Kevin's interview with Bobcat Goldthwait a year or two back (although I only listened to it the other day) was very good, and Bobcat's story about his daughter being stuck in Russell Brand's dressing room had me laughing out loud on the bus.

Sounds good, Goldthwait is an interesting guy. He toured with Nirvana.

I really enjoyed The Nerdist podcast with Edgar Wright
Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) talks to Chris about packing too much for trips, eating weed brownies before a flight and how charming yet gross pubs can be. They then talk about how the pacing of films has changed over the years, getting his start in directing and his new movie Baby Driver!

About This Show
On February 15, 2014, fitness guru Richard Simmons disappeared. He stopped teaching his regular exercise class at Slimmons, cut off his closest friends, and removed himself from the public eye after decades as one of the most accessible celebrities in the world. Nobody has heard from him — and no one knows why he left. Filmmaker Dan Taberski was a Slimmons regular and a friend of Richard’s. Missing Richard Simmons is Dan’s search for Richard — and the deeper he digs, the stranger it gets.

That was ace! Thanks for that. Just listening to the one on Victor Lustig which is...also ace.

Two sisters left the Westboro Church, Joe Rogan interviews one. If its too long theres a 15 minute Ted talk., but she's intelligent and also obviously very brave with some interesting things to say about life in the church and life after leaving so its worth listening too.

I sometimes listen to Alphachat - the podcast of the Financial Times. I particularly enjoyed this one with Angus Deaton about the work that won him the Nobel prize in economics
