Norway's estimated rainfall for Saturday has been decreasing day-by-day, and they're now predicting ZERO mm all day.
    Metservice still reckons rain though.

An I the only one who thinks we will pump them?

We did in the first test, and then if not for a dodgy penalty, and a try with more obstruction then an Enron lawyer we nearly beat them with 14.

I feel more confident for this match then most others it seems.

I'm having wild mood swings between arrogant "yep, we'll pump them", and "fuck I'm worried, and if we lose I'm leaving town". Zero middle ground.

I'm worried about JB on defence and that midfield could be shaky, ALB has been out of sorts and somewhat sluggish on defence and Laumape is green. Not ideal against a side which has been finding space. Excited to see how they go though.

This is the 7th Lions v ABs series I've watched ('66, '71, '77, '83, '93, '05, '17) and I think this is probably the tightest my sphincter has been since the 4th test match in 1971. My ticker might not be able to handle this one. I get anxiety attacks even opening this bloody thread. If I don't have a paramedic on standby I might have to go into an isolation tank until the game is over and then look for the result. I thought this was supposed to be fun?!

@Nepia Don't forget that Mauger carried Umaga. 🙂

I actually think they complimented each other pretty well , each sort of provided what the other lacked ,

And funny enough , when Umaga retired , Mauger seem to slide out of favor ,

Probably form as well but he didnt seem as appealing when paired with Conrad or Mils as he did with Tana IMO .

It was an interesting time when Henry came in. Mauger had a knee injury and that first series Henry went with Carter and Umaga.

Henry tried a heap of different midfield combinations from 2004-2007. Some of the ones I recall are:

                Carter/Umaga
                Tuitupo/Umaga
                Mauger/Umaga
                Umaga/Smith
                Mauger/Smith
                Umaga/Nonu
                Mauger/Nonu
                Mauger/Gear
                Luke/Smith
                Luke/Nonu
                Luke/Mils
                Mauger/Luke
                Mauger/Toeava
                Luke/Toeava

Yeah I think we had 20 plus consecutive games without playing the same combo consecutively

I just remember him as decidely underwhelming. Probably biased by the 2007 quarter final.

He did as much in his 9 minutes as could be expected.

TBH, my memories of that game are watching it in a bar in Cork, with a sense of impending dread, while the Irish crowd was increasingly enjoying the spectacle.

I've never watched the game again...so maybe Toeava was just fine in those 9 minutes as you say...

he had his moments in his career , but would be a bit rough to point the finger at him in this game though, he was the least of our problems TBH .

Whilst I am unhappy we lost the 2nd test it is hard to beat the anxiety and anticipation for this deciding test. Probably the first time in a long time I am not super confident in the end result. Can't wait.

I was unhappy at the Full Time whistle but that feeling had gone by the next day. This really is as good as the World Cup and the only true tour left and I found myself happy for all the Fans that have travelled so far.

I would be gutted to lose the series but the Lions are pretty much the only team I can 'handle' a loss to

@pakman Not sure. It is posted by a journo called Seti Afoa and he has the entire PCs of not just the coaches, but also the players on his youtube page. The full PCs from yesterday of Gatland and Sam, Beaudie and Jordie and Faumaina and Cane have also been uploaded. It's worth subscribing to.

Hope the weather is good and the match lives up to the hype, so far, the test matches have provided the tension and drama they have promised, if this delivers, me oh my I will enjoy it, yes boy!

@Wreck-Diver Could have done with it not pissing down when I was at the America's Cup parade!! The rain in the song actually refers to the bombing in Vietnam on sunny days. Want to see the ABs raining down on the Lions tryline tomorrow evening!!

So leaving a legacy is the challenge, but so too, intertwined with that, is winning respect. Gatland has been underwhelmed by some of the articles written in this part of the world about him, but he takes that on the chin. Instead, he sees respect in the way the opposition treat them, and how their tactics shift, but emphasises how the All Blacks' **aura** is still very much intact.

"No, the **mystique** is definitely not lost," Gatland said. "But it's kind of like how the All Blacks going into games not worried about the opposition, just going to pick their own team, play their own game and worry about themselves. That's what we have been doing."
