I have to admire the class of you people here, I mean I have zero emotional attachment to the All Blacks and was going absolutely bonkers on that accidental offside.
Then to come here and find out people are acting in a civil manner. Hats off

I don't see what was wrong with the selection. Smith may have been cleared off concussion, but had 3 head knocks already and still has a long time to go this season. Crotty also not back from injury, yet. Coles same same. SBW suspended.
Ioane didn't give any reason last week that he would have done better than Julian Savea. Savea had a great first half. Fekitoa didn't show anything that warranted a start tonight.
There's only one big question for me: why did they persist with BB kicking for goal?
Apart from that, it seemed to me that the ABs, esp. the young ones, were a bit nervous, over-excited etc, which led to too many handling errors.
And that decision from Poite, if he had awarded a penalty, we might have won. Or not. We don't know whether BB would have slotted that penalty, but at least, we would have had a chance.
@Stargazer Oh bullshit. Savea bombed several tries because he can't even catch the ball. Ioane is a brilliant finisher and has express speed. He would've nailed those tries as he nailed his opportunities in the 1st test and for the Blues vs the Lions. He's a more accurate defensive player too.

All Blacks never got to grips with the rush/offside defence. Lost count of the times Barrett was left with no choice but to hit it up because there were a crowd of red shirts outside him. I think the disruption in the centres had a lot to do with it, plus the I ability of the replacements to execute. Can see now why Savea was left out earlier - just abysmal. Dagg also past it. And Barrett missed a couple of sitters, again, which would have proved the difference in the end. Lions didn't miss any, their defence was impregnable and they spoiled relentlessly. Oh, and the hand-wringing French referees were appalling
@MrDenmore Dagg kept us in it with composure and kicking. Don't throw the toys out mate.

Gatland truly is the luckiest sob ever. SBW's send off and the ABs massive mistake rate along with a cheating French plum has made him look like a genius, when he really is nothing special at all.

dumb game, I'm gonna down some whiskey and go to bed!
-
So the old adage of " there's no point whinging, the ref isn't going to change his mind" no longer holds true?
I'm fucking seething. That was unprecedented, and not only that, wrong. To use a replay to change your mind on a penalty is bad enough, but to compound it by getting the decision wrong is unfathomable.
-
I'm guessing we will take this as a loss and they almost take it as a win ,
That's the part that sucks the most , it's more of a loss to us than them

@mariner4life yeah it is frustrating alright, try to teach kids the ref is right even when wrong, add in the number of BI players that were at the ref quite alot of the game too, WR needs to stamp that shit out, this aint soccER

Like the fight game, don't leave it in the judges hands.
While a glib comment like that may sound witty there are numerous fights where boxers have been hit after the bell or nut shots have gone unpunished and heavily altered the fight.
So yes, don't leave it in the judges hands but if a referee allows a flurry of punches after the 7th round bell sounds which alters the fight - the response shouldn't be "you had 7 rounds to finish him, shut up and take it".

Yep - Read referred to it as a loss in his post-game interview.
Fitzy just gave a Lion "congratulations". -

Read and Warburton should have an arm wrestle to settle it.

I dunno.. Ioane would've caught the ball when Jules bombed a try opportunity.. Jules looked good cos they actually passed him the ball..
I couldn't keep up with all the knock ons.. But it was the experienced guys that I noticed make errors..
A bit harsh on the young guys..
