And the drummer from Coldplay was in the band at the Red Wedding. I just struggled with the fact a random band of soldiers ends up having a bunch of GC's (hardly a Lannister trait) and a really talented singer. Guess they had to make an effort to set Arya up with a moral quandary.

We re-watched a bunch of episodes ahead of the new season. Bronn and Tyrion are a fantastic combo. Their banter is right up there with the Hound and Arya.

Bronn is cool.
Have you read the books? He's arguably even cooler.
They should make a series about young Bronn. Id farking watch that.

was watching on Foxtel Go. It crashed the "Live TV" bit. Then the "on-demand" bit crashed a couple of minutes from the end. Thought at the time, and was confirmed today, everyone in Australia was trying to use the same thing at the same time.
And down she goes Trev.
Foxtel, in a completely unprecedented move for a Murdoch empire company, is trying to shift blame to HBO.

@Rancid-Schnitzel I have read them, but ages ago now. Bronn is a cracking character - a back story series would be cool, if they can find someone with the same swagger and presence. Jerome Flynn is epic!
May start a re-read soon, but the tv and books are getting further and further apart. Not always big stuff, but enough to give each their own flavour I reckon. Although Martin has kept the tv guys pretty close on the next stages. Maybe we'll see things align again for the ending.
Can I get a reminder on who was in that house that the Hound and co stayed in. I know he topped a dude earlier on, when he was escorting Arya. But couldn't work out the connection in the latest episode.
-
@Paekakboyz I thought it was just people that had been there when he was there (maybe the owners?), I dont recall the people being of any significance.

I think he worked for the guy and then stole his silver. That's why he was so guilty.

One thing that was a bit disappointing with this episode was that Dragonstone was undefended. Even with Stannis dead, he would have kept a garrison there (in the books it's taken back by Loras with appalling casualties). So there was major potential to see the Dothraki, Unsullied, Dragons etc. in early action. Shame.
But due to Sam's discovery it seems Dragonstone will play a big part in taking out the WW. Will be interesting to see the dynamics behind that.
Oh yeah another thing. Sansa seemed extremely cold towards Little Finger. He appears weak but at the end of the day he holds all the power with the Vale forces. If she rebuffs his advances then flip a coin over what he'll do.

The hound stayed there with Arya back in season 4, he assaulted the father to steal his silver.
Arya called him a shit but the Hound said it doesnt matter, they will be dead by winter. Which of course he was right about. -
@Rancid-Schnitzel yeah was good to see Sansa keeping him at arms length.
Yeah the Dragonstone thing was a bit weird, even if there was no one to 'run' it, someone would have moved in, squatters at the very least, surely.
Aside from Bran, anyone else know about the blood ties between Dany & Jon? Tyrion is likely to know, seems to know everything that little fucker!

Sam might find out in the Citadel. Its basically a hall of records there..

@Virgil seems quite a few books there, once he finds what he is looking for, not sure he wold keep looking and be lucky enough to stumble upon it...although I guess he may look to see if there was a record of who JOn's ma might be.

The few scenes with the Hound and Bronn were class. That coulda been something for the writers to pursue rather than fat fluffybunnies having orgasms over books.

The Hound is a GC, scenes with him are top notch.
Things slowly coming together, even just geographically now too with Arya just up the road from giving Cersei some needle. My favourite character hands down.
Some pearlers:
Rumour has it that the writers may have him become Azor Ahai from the books. I hope that the Prince that was Promised title isn't given to Jon Snow/Daenerys as they've enough titles as it is.
-
You're shit at dying, you know that?
Ha ha fuck me that is class. They have done a cracker job of casting. I'll be taking all the chicken's lads!

@taniwharugby As we know from Bran's visit to the past and has been guessed by most fans of the books, Jon Snow is actually the child of Prince Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, Ned's younger sister.
Whether or not Jon is still a bastard is yet to be seen as it is a common fan theory that Rhaegar and Lyanna secretly wed in the tower before she gave birth.
Rhaegar is Dany's older brother so technically, Jon and Dany are Aunty and Nephew which is why, no matter the tradition of Targaryen's intermarriage, I don't think that Jon and Dany will ever get together like so many fans think.
Dany and Jon may be the last of the Targaryen's. I say "may" as there are many fan theory's surrounding the Imp, Tyrion, could be a Targaryen as it was known that the Mad King Aery was infatuated with Tywin's wife Joanna and as the theory goes, possibly bedded Joanna whilst Tywin was away.
This is often thought of the reasoning for Tywin's hatred of Tyrion and why he says in season 4, "I can't prove you aren't my son" before the trial of Tyrion for the murder of Jofferey.
This would explain why the dragons responded to Tyrion if he also had Targaryen blood.
Perhaps there are three dragons for three riders; Dany, Jon and Tyrion??? -
@RoninWC that's the way I'm leaning - proof will be down to the Dragons though! I expect their interview process for riders will be pretty cut and fried
Seems like Sam has already found what he needs re dragonglass - so I expect he'll gap it from his training soon, or have sufficient info that the head Maester sends him off on a mission. I think we are well beyond a montage to show Sam getting his full set of chains!
