Ever wonder about the story behind the M60 tank police chase in San Diego?

It involved a suburban backyard goldmine and a lot of meth.

That was ace! Thanks for that. Just listening to the one on Victor Lustig which is...also ace.

Two sisters left the Westboro Church, Joe Rogan interviews one. If its too long theres a 15 minute Ted talk., but she's intelligent and also obviously very brave with some interesting things to say about life in the church and life after leaving so its worth listening too.

I sometimes listen to Alphachat - the podcast of the Financial Times. I particularly enjoyed this one with Angus Deaton about the work that won him the Nobel prize in economics

Is any good? There was an article about some prison guard Bain called " dad" , that's about the last thing I'd want him to call me

It's a 10 episode podcast by that reporter from the Press. I've listened to 3 episodes so far, which is mainly backgrounding the family. The mum was a nutcase by the sounds of it.

Not sure if they talk about their time in PNG but she decided the sun could purify anything so left tap water on the window sill in jars . Not surprisingly they all got dysentery when they drank it.
PNG seems to have been where things really started to go downhill for them, the father was a teacher and important to the locals whereas the mother was a fat lazy slob they couldn't give two shits about and that really got to her.

Similar thing happened to some of my family who went over there with the church, the father was an electrician and an important man in the village because he got the street lights working and a bunch of other things and when he got home he was just a maintainance electrician at a soft drink plant. Fortunately there was no murder involved, they just got divorced and he went back there for a few years.

OK, if you're short of time, simply listen to the last episode.

I personally think the jury in the 2nd trial should be on trial themselves for obstructing the course of justice...

my girlfriend put me on to Sound Opinions. A few podcasts they did a good one on New Zealand music.

If you like QI, there is No Such Thing as a Fish. A random fact, and a background story that goes with it.

I like Planet Money and Freakanomics radio.

Often my window to listen to podcasts is quite short, so I don't really like anything longer than about 30 mins. The Sports Gambling Podcast is OK, but it's quite long, and they ramble a lot.

Being away from New Zealand, I quite like Radio New Zealand's podcasts.

    RNZ : Programmes : The 9th Floor

    RNZ : Programmes : The 9th Floor

Hour long interviews with NZ's last 5 PM's excluding Key.

Quite interesting considering two became PM's by leading coups agaimst their predecessors

Overwhelming impression is how we have been pretty well served on the leadership front compared to most countries

Also should be compulsory listening for anyone anti MMP

I listened to Clarks and Shipleys podcasts and they were very good I thought. Both of them very reluctant to admit to mistakes they made which I guess is human nature but for a pm it's a bit weird when history shows you got it wrong. Haven't got all the way through the Mike Moore one and not heard any of Bolgers which was probably the most widely reported on of all of the interviews.

Agree we have been lucky though , compare what we've had with the people the Aussies have had for example.

Not interested in Palmer at all, won't bother listening to his.

Take a listen to Malcolm Gladwell - author of such books as 'The Tipping Point'. His podcast is 'Revisionist History'. I listen to a heap of podcasts and this is about the best.
