Always knew roughly where the various antipodes of NZ cities were as we are one of the relatively few places that doesn't land you in ocean, but now I know that I hitched through the exact antipodes of my current home in 1981. Always liked Andalucia - the similarities with the North Shore are.... remarkable
e.g. It's 23 degrees there at 1.00 am at the moment fine and sunny day in prospect high of 33 zero chance of rain. Uncannily like Auckland today

If you have 100 petabytes of data you need to transfer to a data farm, how do you do it? Even using a really good Ethernet cable it might take minutes and minutes to transfer, and you're just too busy to stand there and wait. For 20 years.
It turns out that Amazon can rent you one of these trucks, which is effectively the world's biggest thumb drive:
I'd like to shake the hand of the guy/girl who was brave enough to come up with this as an idea, and then all the other people in the room who said "Cool idea, let's do it" instead of laughing in their face. Sometimes people are awesome.
