Another Netflix job. I thought it was a lot of fun, actually. If you can leave alone some of the stupidity in the plot, and treat it like a fucking comic book movie that requires bad decisions to get off the deck then your disbelief is suspended, and you're ready to enjoy Margot Robbie in short shorts. Hooray!

Anyway, lots of blowing-up-and-alien-shit-things-with-end-credits-scene which leads onto Justice League nicely.

I should add: 0.5 of those marks were for Cara Delevignenen or however you spell it. I don't give a fuck if they digitally slimmed her down, femmenazis. She looked hot as that evil bitch.

Bloody hell, outrageously emotional movie. The better half basically spent the whole two hours in tears. Pretty amazing story very well told, hard to fault it. India is a fucked up place, huge disparity between rich and poor and 80 odd thousand kids go missing every year which is absolutely nuts.
Would recommend.

I watched this myself over the weekend, the last of the 2017 Best Motion Picture of the Year nominees I needed to see. Well apart from THAT film. I agree with your comments but would rate it a little lower.

Hidden Figures
A really enjoyable movie about a story that I wasn't even aware of (female African-American mathematicians whose work was vital in the early years of the U.S. space program at NASA). All the main cast were really good, and this movie had the right balance of facts and humour. I liked how they incorporated photos and bios of the real people at the end.4 human computers out of 5 NASA nerds.
Fences
I'm a huge Denzel fan but you can tell the movie had been adapted from a play as the first act is too wordy. Denzel is good of course, as was Viola Davis, but the scene-stealer was Mykelti Williamson as the injury-impaired younger brother.3.5 crookeds out of 5 straights
Manchester By The Sea
OK but I tend not to enjoy these melancholic movies as much. The movie loses its way in the 2nd half. I'm also not sure Casey Affleck's performance was the most deserving of best actor.3 out of 5 (I can't think of anything to use)

While trapped in the many aeroplanes I've been in during the past 10 days, I saw bits of a movie that will haunt me in a bad way like forever. No idea the name of it, but it's a fairly new release, and had these youngish people trapped in some sort of hospital, and being treated in various disgusting ways by a truly sadistic doctor. Anyway, one scene I happened to see (excuse me while I puke) the young man was in like a decompression chamber type thing, and sadistic doc decides to punish him for something (I didn't have sound so don't know the dialogue) and SD pinches his nose til he opens his mouth, then shoves in giant plastic thing to keep it open, then shoves big tube down his throat, then pours in leeches. ARRRGGGHH. Why did I have to see that in a darkened plane. ARRRGGHHH.

Saw all 3 of the most recent planet of the apes movies last week.
First one was excellent. 4.5 Alzheimer cures outta 5 angry monkeys.
Second one was also very good. 4 monkey revolutionaries outta 5 big explosions
Third was just so-so. They bought in a jajar binks character, certain scenes were stupidly emotionally unrealistic and overall it was way way overly melodramatic. 3 evil white christian males, outta 5 'oh for fucks sake yes its an emotional scene but jesus christ get on with the action already!' -

I probably give all of them a four. Much different movies than what I thought they were going to be and the mo cap is bloody spectacular.

Hmmm, you'd think I would have figured out how to spoiler by now.
So, the trailer to the 3rd one basically made it out to be a massive battle between the Apes and the Humans when in reality it was a couple of small fights between Apes and Humans and then a battle between Humans and Humans. I still really enjoyed it but that frikkin trailer convinced me I was going to be watching something else.
Also, where are the Humans from the 2nd one? Thought maybe they could have come back to warn Caesar of the approaching Woody and his men.

@Nepia Yeah had the same feelings regarding the trailer which set me up for some awesome action expectations.
That reminds me I saw Baby driver last weekend. Absolutely loved it. I was running on like 3hours of sleep and a giant hangover on a sunday and was fully expecting to be getting some shuteye time but was glued to the screen. 5 cassette tapes outta 5 takeaway coffees

Meanwhile a container ship full of cash (presumably) has persuaded Daniel Craig not to slash his wrists and he will do two more Bond movies.
I find that a bit unimaginative tbh. I never really warmed to his Bond and found the movies lacked the 'fun' level of previous ones.
Kingsman has jumped into that space. -

King Arthur...not sure I bought Jax Teller as King Arthur or Little Finger as someone who isn't looking to stab someone in the back at every turn, and if it didn't have the whole King Arthur aspect to it, I'd probably have enjoyed it more for what it was...
