@jegga actually I think Filthy Rich is on here late night, as well as Motorway Patrol and SCU.

Those two ex-military horis also had a run with their survival show here a while back.

Which one was that? Filthy rich is shit too, how can you have a stripper as a main character and never show her with her gear off?

@jegga I dunno the name - it was like a Survivorman NZ but these two Maori fellas who were the most chilled out disaster survivors ever.

The ep I remember was them on an island in the middle of a lake.

@MiketheSnow Just watched the first couple eps. Looks good!

2 posts in and no mention that Jessica Biel stars. Awful.

    Criminal really.

weeeeeell I hate to say this guys, it might just be the character she is playing (messed up to say the least) but she has lost a lot of her shine.
Very good show so far though

I've been going old school and re-watching Vinnie Terranova and co in "Wiseguy" again. I watched this series when it was first aired in the late 1980s but haven't seen it since then. This was the mob show of its era and some famous actors/actoresses got their early breaks in this series (e.g. Kevin Spacey, Annette Bening).

Fumbles around for first 3 eps lining them all up to get together. Now the fun hopefully starts.

I remember that as a great show, the one in the music industry was pretty funny too.Ever see this?

The episode from Wiseguy? I'm half way through S1 and Ep7 was about that. I swear that looked like Jeff Porcaro playing drums in the band at the end.

@Bovidae one series was set in the music business, Tim Curry, Glen Frey , Debbie Harry and Mick Fleetwood were in it.

Just checked, that's the second half of S2. I've got a while to get to that as there are 21-22 episodes per season.

@Crucial yeah first few eps been messy, so hopefully they can line it up and get things right.

Will be interesting, I've not watched Luke Cage or Iron Fist, have watched JJ & DD, and the tone of JJ was a bit darker than DD, which I preferred, so be interesting to see where this goes.

Got 1 ep of Ozark to go, really enjoying it, bar the flashback ep (8) which bar 1 scene, seemed to be put in purely as a filler and I cant really see the point of it as they could have dealt with what they needed to in a minute or 2.

Been on the couch with flu so bingeing on a few things.

Luke Cage - have now finished.
Recap: I'd previously watched Jessica Jones months ago over a couple of sittings and found it generally interesting - exploring these "second tier" mutants. I made the mistake of following it with Iron Fist which flat out sucked. Daredevil was consumed fairly rapidly, and I didn't mind it, mostly for the blonde.

But Luke Cage I liked despite its slow pacing and occasionally weird gangster code of who does what, when. The thing that sucked about it most was the main villain in Diamondback. Walking fucking cliche.

I probably found this the most enjoyable of the Marvel series on Netflix so far, and the timing of completion led me into...

    Marvel Defenders
The presence of Danny Rand makes this a fucking whinefest. The guy has NO chill and can't seem to do anything except make stupid decisions. Its like the rest of them are babysitting him through not getting everyone dead.

So he's got billions but refuses to just hire some mercs who could have shot shit out of those ninja mofos without breaking a sweat? FFS...

For someone who has studied kung fu for a decade, he pretty much sucks at it. Good thing those monks beat him up so much because he'd be well-practiced at getting his arse kicked.

And that seemed to be the theme for a lot of fights in the series, particularly when The Hand leaders started to turn up. Yep, centuries of learning and skill, brought down by some chick who has never learned to formally fight. Being super-strong doesn't make you super-awesome.

I was really just watching this one to see where it went, and who died. I was kind of disappointed on both fronts right up until the final scene.

Hopefully before the next one of these, Danny Rand gets eaten by rabid lemurs while visiting a zoo to make a charitable donation.

    Killjoys

This has been on My List in Netflix for a while now, and I had the opportunity to start it.

First couple of eps didn't really grab me. Seemed like a lite version of Firefly but with less hokey accents and a smaller galactic footprint.

Since then it has thrown up some interesting ideas and character plot lines, though for drama it often falls back on "comms are down due to reasons!" and "principles shminciples! This needs to be done!" despite the obvious ramifications of the actions.

Anyway its fairly good fun, the lead chick is fit, and what else are you going to do while hawking up a litre of phlegm?

I just discovered Rick and Morty, Pickle Rick fighting the rats might well be one of the greatest things I've ever seen.

Echoing what @taniwharugby has been saying about Ozark. What an awesome series. Other half and I binged all weekend. Two to go tonight. Quirky and odd with the odd but of gruesome violence thrown in. How good does the location look for a holiday? ( provided you keep away from the rednecks and ferals )
