Dear we risk getting our hopes up after a lovely Ihia West converted try closes the gap to ten points?

BoP really taking the piss now, shelling a pass preventing a certain try

What about the knock on there before the McNicol kick, the ref just watching the game, not oficiating

And the coup de gras added with Webber not dropping the ball this time as he scoots over in the corner

No it wasn't as they added the ultimate indignity with pushover. God how much worse can it get? And the next game is against Canterbury so no hope of anything there.

    Fixed

Also looking forward to seeing the positive spin the local press put on it with the HBRFU pissing in their pocket.

We were terrible, but shit, some dodgy calls by this Auckland ref and his mates.

There were a few but lets be honest, they did not cost us the game.

@Higgins I said we were terrible. We didn't deserve a win.

It brings back horrorfying memories of the high scoring draw with Thames Valley about 18 or 20 years ago.

I was at that game in Waihi I think. Colin Bourke playing at fullback saved us by kicking all his penalties

Was that the one that finished something like 35 all? If not then the one I am thinking about happened at McLean Park. It definitely was not the game you I and Mr Bump went to in Te Aroha (the one we turned up and had a beer in Paeroa only to discover the venue had changed late in the piece when we were about to depart the pub for the game - ten minutes before kick off) as that was a Vikings fixture from memory - they had a lucky escape that day. I refuse to call the Vikings "my team"!

Going by the trusty Rugby Almanack's ....

The high scoring game at Napier you're thinking of was in 1999 (the year after the Central Vikings) when HB lost 34-36. There has never been a draw between HB and Thames Valley. A future All Black by the name of Keith Robinson played lock for Thames Valley that day.

The following year HB won 12-8 at Paeroa when Antony Papenfus kicked 4 penalty goals.

The game where Colin Bourke kicked the penalty goals was at Waihi in 2003 when HB won 19-13 - he kicked 4 penalty goals and a conversion. This is the last game played between the two teams.

We were second best and second rate tonight.
