Cavs deal Kyrie to Celtics for Isaiah, Nets pick

Cavs deal Kyrie to Celtics for Isaiah, Nets pick

The Celtics have acquired Kyrie Irving from the Cavaliers for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and Brooklyn's 2018 unprotected first-round pick.

This is good for both teams although the Cavs got the extra's and the Celtics just get Kyrie.

How the Big Baller Brand is trying to disrupt the entire sneaker industry

From introducing a $495 signature sneaker to changing his shoes - and brand - every game at summer league, Lonzo Ball's entry into the signature sneaker market is like nothing we've ever seen. What does it all mean for the multi-billion dollar industry?

The shoes are rubbish though. As proved my Lonzo himself. He wore what, one time competitively?

The design is rubbish and derivative. These look like Kobes, Kyries and Hardens in a massive ugly mash up.

Ugly and rubbish didn't seem to hinder Adidas selling thousands of D Rose shoes....

Finally the 'melo era is over in New York. Sam Presti makes another strong move in OKC getting Anthony to join Westbrook and Paul George. Their projected starting line-up

    Westbrook
    George
    Roberson?
    Melo
    Adams

Strong. Melo can't defend shit but Roberson George and Adams are excellent defenders while Westbrook has the potential. Plenty of scoring there with the Russ George and Melo carrying the load

@canefan Great to see OKC are going for it in the west. Can the big three work together will be the big question in the first half of the season.

Great move for Melo, who has been working hard in the offseason and looks in good shape.

No matter how many superstars you have on a team, it often comes down to what your supporting cast is and finding that right combination to close out a game.

    @canefan

Melo should offer better outside shooting than what OKC had this season.

The key will be learning to share the ball, something GSW does so well.

Apparently Melo played more catch and shoot with Team USA. If Russ can share (he's shown glimpses and this team will be more talented than ever before) and Melo is happy to spot up they will be dangerous

The other thing is 3 point shooting. Russ is streaky, Melo is an imporoved shooter from distance and George is goodish. They need at least one more if not 2.

I don't think we used him that well though despite having a good back to the basket game and a decent mid range shot. He was essentially used as an alley oop option.

I liked what I saw from Mitchell. He was an active body who played well once he adjusted to the refs. I remember he was often in early foul trouble at the start of the season.

If these stats are current Mitchell's performance in the G-League was similar to what he did for the Breakers (9.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game).

It is possible that the Lakers have unearthed a Jimmy Butler style pick in Kyle Kuzma. Unheralded 27th pick, kid had a tough upbringing which seems to have given him a strong worth ethic that will stand him in good stead in the pros

@canefan he played good ball in the Summer League and is going well as an impact bench guy in the preseason. Was a natural scorer in college and with his size and shooting will be a tough cover.

Despite the renewed optimism around the Lakers, I think it’s going to be a tough season for them.

They are a lottery team for sure. They will hope to develop their young core and enter into the free agent sweepstakes next season
