Ex[endables 2 - it smells like chicken, looks like chicken...plenty of cliched one liners taking the piss out of themselves.<br />
<br />
I think if they wanna do a 3rd, they need to add in maybe Charles Bronson, Clint Eastwood and maybe a couple of others.<br />
<br />
<br />
I would be fucking A - Mazed if they added in Charles Bronson.

Arnie and Stallone would be too concerned that Bronson would make their 'acting' look deader than dead.

I'd say Willis, Arnie & Stallone are keeping the plastic surgeons busy! Chuck Norris & JCVD possibly too...
In Stallone's defense, he didn't want to take off the helmet either. With one of the most recognisable voices and jaws in movies, he really didn't need to either.<br />
<br />
It needed a more experienced director, and probably a british one too that understood the character. Was so disappointed after watching that movie.
<br />
<br />
I heard that Stallone messed with other aspects of production though. I think you're spot on with the British director comment though.<br />
<br />
Don't want to build myself up to much for the latest one, but I'm keen to see Urban do it because I like his work.

Chuck Norris' face is so tight he looks bizarre. If JCVD has, then he should sue for leaving those massive bags under his eyes. He looked really old.<br />
<br />
Willis and Arnie look untouched (and their age) Stallone looks like melted wax.

He fought the director because he was screwing up a lot. Stallone gets a lot of grief for that movie, but the blame is shared (terrible script, rookie director, interfering producers making Sly take the helmet off, and incompetent casting with the likes of Rob Schneider...)<br />
<br />
With the latest one, it's an entertaining action film that's faithful to the source material. So if you like the comics, you'll like the movie. Not the best movie in the world, but worth your money.

Not that I'm an expert, but Arnie in particular did, and the wife even commented and she reads all the chick mags <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Me neither, but I would point out that Arnie looked weird when he was young too.

Saw Anna Karenina.<br />
<br />
Tolstoy's novel is routinely described as the greatest novel of all time. This latest movie adaptation is very theatrical, in fact it's sooooo theatrical that some of the scenes use theatrical setting and devices to frame the story. That said, it is very engrossing, albeit puzzling in the beginning, and fantastic to look at. Oscars all round for costume design etc.<br />
<br />
At the end though, I turned to Mrs Luigi and chums and said: "Well, she really fucked her life up, didn't she?"<br />
<br />
Great to watch if you need some brownie points.

Watched Cabin in the Woods, decent enough Horror, with a bit of a twist, bit disapponted with Thor, he was a bit of a pussy in this one <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />
<br />
Moonrise Kingdom - only watched due to the cast (Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Harvey Keitel, Edward Norton) bit of a quirky sort of movie about an orphaned boy and a girl who run away together on a little island and the search that follows.

"The Perks of Being a Wallflower." Promoted as the new "Breakfast Club," and I can see that, not in terms of plot, but more that we're dealing with sensitive American high-school students with "issues" where the ghosts of mental illness and suicide hang in the air. Stars the world's highest paid actress from Harry Potter, wearing a bra and very cute, but still hard to see her as anything but Hermione; and the exotic looking kid who played the title-role psychopath from "We Need To Talk About Kevin." Also - in a key role - Kiwi Melaney Lynskey. It looks to have taken place in the late 1980s - the kids are obsessed with Morrissey/Smiths, they exchange cassette tapes, and Hermione asks Kevin in the pickup truck to "turn down the noise" (Sonic Youth's "Teenage Riot") and Kevin responds by turning it louder and exclaiming "[url="

"]This is rock and roll!" (Nice touch.) Some things don't ring true - e.g. the kids know Nick Drake, yet (and this becomes somewhat significant) don't recognize David Bowie's "Heroes." C'mon. And graduating seniors hanging out with a freshman as their new best friend, welll, whatever. Pittsburgh looks beautiful at night, I think I shall have to visit. Unfortunate and unintentional red herring: the kid's brother plays football for Penn State.<br />

I'm a sucker for Hollywood high school movie genre. My faves are "Fast Times" and "Dazed & Confused." This isn't as good, but has the emo feel & charm & quality of John Hughes films and it's worth a rental when it comes out. 7/10

I mention those two movies because if I accidentally trip over them on tv, I cannot change the channel.

Man is that out already? I gotta get me a ticket. The Stallone "interpretation" was perhaps the must disappointing comic-to-movie I've ever seen but the preview for this one looked spesh.<br />
I actually liked Stallone as Dredd . He did a pretty good job but I thought the movie on a whole was let down by some apalling casting . The new one was really good though with Urban as Dredd .

I haven't seen Goon yet, but I'm really interested in this trailer for the "Last Gladiators" documentary that opens this week. I have a gut feeling ESPN 30-For-30 will broadcast it later this season.<br />

This may sound silly, but I kind of don't want to tarnish my memories of (the great) Taken by watching the sequel.
