After watching the warriors this year he'd need to learn how to tackle before making the all blacks.

TJ Perenara has re-signed with NZR and the Hurricanes for four more years (end of 2021 season)!

Don't we have enough flaky, unpredictable, exciting midgets now?

Good point, shek has perfected the "oh whoops I slipped" move that Dagg has used to infuriate many a Crusaders fan when we needed him to make a tackle. 🙂

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck's focus could soon turn to a different World Cup as he considers switching to the All Blacks.

Ahem, that would be switching to rugby. NZR didn't promise an AB spot to SBW and he needed to prove himself first at NPC/Super rugby level. The same for RTS.

Still no squad news, and it's just a few days from their naming.

I wonder if this is related to the NZRU/Sky's bad media relations?

That's surprising so, apart from the already departed Mark Abbott, wonder who out of Michael Fatialofa, James Blackwell, Sam Lousi, Vaea Fifita, Blade Thompson and Geoffrey Cridge has been shoved aside to make way?

@higgins If the HBT is correct, Cridge will be out for 6 months, so he might not make the squad.

Where are they going to fit him in if they sign him when they already have about six or seven locks?

He’s a real workhorse. Been as solid as a rock for us during the M10 cup. Has the ability to play lock or 6 equally as well. I was skeptical when he showed up in pre-season, but in my opinion has been one of the stand out players for Northland this year. He usually has his head buried in doing all the shit work no one else wants to do. He’ll go well for the Canes..

Bateman I expected, but Delany not at all. Presumably we'll let go Marty McKenzie which isn't a bad thing as I don't rate him and don't like his game, but I didn't expect it to be in favour of a 35 year old. I also assume Brett Cameron will be involved in the wider squad which means Mo'unga will be ably spotted next year by a crew of talented midgets and a classy grandpa.

Former Crusaders assistant backs coach Tabai Matson, who is back in NZ after recently severing his ties as Todd Blackadder's assistant at English premiership club Bath, was Robertson's boss when Canterbury won the national title in 2012 but is understood to have already agreed to work under Colin Cooper at the Chiefs.

Delany is a big upgrade on Mackenzie. I'm happy to have him as a third string 10.....

I guess we'll see a fair bit of him playing club rugby, wonder which club he's going to.

Awesome news. Delany was a big part in the improvement in the Steamers this year, a mix of his own play and also how others lifted their game around him. Hoping he has another year for the Bay in 2018 too...
