@dogmeat Gareth has still found time to call the PM out on her cat's activities while getting run over (gotta keep relevant) posted in Politics thread.

@mokey Ardern went up in my estimation (assuming cat was named after Sir Richard).

Anyway there's only one decent name for a cat and that is dogmeat

@taniwharugby yeah saw knobhead didn't learn from his previous utterances. What a publicity whore

Morgan should refrain from any commentary to reporters, especially in regards to Ardern. He ALWAYS comes across as a complete tool. Yes, protecting wildlife is important. No, having a go at the PM who lost perhaps a really loved pet is NOT the time or place or argument. FFS.

It was remarkable how much support he got in a short time for TOP. Imagine how he might have done if he wasn't so unlikeable

@dogmeat I don't think it was due to Hadlee, think it was down to her cat having an extra digit (how the f@ck do I know this??)

Anywhoo, back on point, Gareth Morgan is a twat!

@taniwharugby reckon she should get another moggy and name it after the iconic 60's cartoon character

@canefan dentists up here are too quick to recommend pulling a kids tooth if it isnt thier adult one, despite the fact that it can leave a gap for years before the adult one comes through and affects the neighbouring teeth.

TR Jnr had one cavity, wasnt repaired properly and had to be removed, now the neighbouring teeth are crowding where the other one wants to come through.

Miss TR had a similar issue, but the dentist said it was fine, 2 weeks later she had an infection and they had to remove it, but the dentist at least suggested we get a spacer (was like $30) put in to avoid the same issue as TR Jnr.

I dont think my kids are on or below the poverty line though....

Hopefully my kids have strong teeth like thier mother, mine are terrible, the only redeeming quality of them are they are straight, otherwise I dont think I have 1 tooth that isnt filled or had other more extensive work. Worst bit is I only ever do stuff when I need it, purely a cost decision.

I suspect the cost factor is a reason some parents dont take thier kids, not realising dental care is free for kids.

@taniwharugby we teach the mindset that an annual check up is just what you give your car so why not? Prevention and early detection is best. As for free dental care, I remember an old study that suggested uptake of free dental services was only about 33%. Cost wasn't always the major factor

As a kid I was always going off to the dentist to have fillings put in or replaced. Then around age 12 I stopped eating sugary shit and I haven't had another filling. Odd that.

The article says tooth extraction rates have actually dropped outside of everywhere but Canterbury. Beaglehole uses the fact that the region of NZ is having more extractions as a sign of growing poverty in NZ.
Beaglehole is on NZ s most prominent anti sugar campaigners and a leftie so no surprises there

    this will be interesting...

    this line though:

Peter's legal counsel Brian Henry told the court some of the journalists who were leaked the story may have been politically motivated, and not neutral reporters.

Wow, lucky that has never happened before!

So far this week the Ferald has said property prices in Auckland have dropped then a couple of days later half the houses in Auckland are worth over a million according to them and then this today. Working there must feel like working at Blockbuster

@jegga I suppose it's dropping sale price figures vs escalating council valuations
