Cane, Whitelock and Naholo were my votes. Cane made some clutch tackles around the fringes when they'd broken the line. Naholo seems to be settling in nicely and his turnover game is mean! Tana and Snakey would be proud.

      Went for Cane, Smith, Beaudy.

Worst on ground, Sonny Bill. The "awesome athlete" gets cut a hell of a lot of slack for all his brain farts.

Is not a starting 12 and they need to realise that and admit the error of their ways.

Bench is OK but nothing more.

Hard to see him with anything more than a bench role at best in Japan RWC 2019.

I'm not picking SBW, yellow rules him out, but funny you mention how he gets cut slack and then select a guy who kicked the ball out on the full from a 22 kick off and did some aimless bombs. I want last years BB back.

I'd like to know what Sonny Bill gives us in the positive column, over a large number of matches? Good defence, yes, but to me that's a given in that position, I don't think any of the alternatives are viewed as turnstiles.

What we need is someone to lead the midfield attack with some variety, I don't see Sonny Bill being that man.

Yeah apart from the brain fart where he's sitting on the bench in the stupid chair, yet again, I'm really not sure. As I said, he seems to get cut an awful lot of slack, as you seem to be giving him. No other player spent 10 minutes in the bin or conceded a penalty try.

Beaudy had a bit of a strange game. He was a big part of why we were 26 points up but then did terribly when we were a player down. Still SBW has made dumb actions which has severely negatively affected us in two test matches this year. On other day, SBW costs us at that game. For me SBW isn't that much better on attack than the alternatives to override the dumb stuff he does.

Whitelock an absolute beast. Cane a slightly lesser beast. Smith the glue.

Yes I am struggling with what to make off B.B. myself. When he is the one who is supposed to steady the ship he sometimes lacks composure. He can kick 100% but game to game you have no clue what you will get. I almost breathe a sigh of relief when he goes to full back. I chose Hames, Laulala and Ioane with Cane and Whitelock close behind. Strongly tempted to have Cane play some at 6 with Savea orTodd at 7.

Kane Hames was man of the match, ruthlessly dealt to the reputedly best tighthead in France. Got him yellow carded in the first half - unbelievable!

@bones Come on Bones. When I think beast I think Kaino, PT and that Georgian prop or hooker with stand out physical imposition on a game. Anyway agree he had a great game.

@broughie well that's fine if you have a different definition of beast than most people...

I wasn't using it to describe his size or muscles, it's pretty obvious. Even so, what's not standing out for you about a massive caveman looking fella?

Provided there's copious amounts of bacon, eggs and black coffee thats a terrific idea. I might even see a Scottish try if I'm lucky.

I'm still perplexed on these polls when BBBR isn't there.

If he was there he would have been MOTM, SBW would have caught that ball and DMac would have completed an audacious chip, catch, swerve, step and score.

                                        But he wasn't.
