End Of Watch<br />
<br />
Entertaining but a bit silly really cop drama. There are some really good moments but as the two main characters progress through the movie they seem to hit it rich every time they turn on there siren which destroys any sense of authenticity.<br />
<br />
Still worth the watch for a steady cam film. 7/10 -

THat is the one with Jack Black right, based on a 'true story'? While he was briliant in it, I am still not sure if I enjoyed that one.. -

<br />
Yeah, that's the one. Most of the townsfolk in it were people from the real town. And yep, Black was very good in it. -

I'm hesitant as well, and I am a fantasy fan. Mainly because I'm worried about why he's turned one book into two, then three films. And these will be loooooong films.<br />

This.<br />
<br />
Im not sure how many of you have rewatched LOTR recently but they are bloated over long films. Still brilliant but so much fat could be trimmed. And that was for a series that actually required 3 separate films.<br />
<br />
We are told that the movie will not be completely finished until 48hrs out from the premiere. I assume theres not much more than a few editing touch ups, removing digital watches, and that has been played up for marketing reasons. But to me it sounds a lot like Sir Pete is fucking about too much. -

I dont agree, IMO they missed alot from the books that adds to the story, they coulda made another movie, maybe shortened the 3 by 20 mins or so each and including them in other movies (still to include it all, but to reduce the length of each a little) while making a 4th movie.<br />
<br />
Overall, I enjoyed them, have the extended versions of each as well, havent managed to do a marathon single sitting of them all, but have watched them more than once. -
So at the end of this will we have a Star Wars type scenario where you can watch the movies in a particular order, other than release date?<br />
<br />
The fact that the movies look so similar and have some of the same actors will make that pretty satisfying. -

Im probably in the minority and I do agree that somethings, important to the entire story, were missed. But rewatching there are a few aspects not really to do with the story that I would have left out.<br />
<br />
I still think the films are awesome just over long. -
It's because you have a tiny attention span. Too much TV bro....

TBH the recent spate of great TV has done that too me - my attention span is 40 - 60 minutes now. If I watch a movie at home I generally need an intermission. I would have needed a couple of intermissions just for the ending of the final Lord of the Rings alone! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> -
I was originally a bit uncomfortable with the extra bits Jackson added to try and link things, but a lot of them made sense e.g. dropping the mysterious Elven Prince at the Ford in favour of Arwen.<br />
<br />
In a lot of eats he was trying to update the original tale for a modern audience. Reading the books, the whole bit where Frodo and Sam piss off into Mirror was always boring as fuck. -

If I could remember what we were talking about I'd probably be offended. <br />

I was gutted Glorfindel got cut!Though, I wasn't as fussed about Tom not getting a look in.<br />
<br />
I can't wait for the Hobbit. Loved the book as a kid and it's what really got me in to reading. -
Glorfindel was OK if you knew your history of Middle Earth (Silmarillion etc) but otherwise seemed a little pointless to me. Blow-in.<br />

Make sure its a big cup with a good top so you can... uh... re-use it.... -
I woulda liked to see Tom, but it wouldn't have added anything to the story...the return to the Shire and Sharky on the other hand....
