Funny how some are devaluing that English victory. It looked a fair tussle in the forwards but not in the backs. And England knew when to attack. Played with more strategic ability. I still feel the Aussie midfield are drytrack bullies. And Foley is not really in control, the big winger is ok though. Hodge? He has played 10 out hasn't he?

Sounds to me like the big bopper midfield failed, as many predicted. That drop by Kuridrani after Kerevi carved off huge metres is fucking unforgiveable - but then, so is a flick pass from Kerevi when a simple, two handed pop would do.

Doubt whether I'll watch it, besides the post match "interview" I've seen where the interviewer tries to dig a reaction out of Cheika.

Sure, he's being a pill in the coaches box. But isn't the interview supposed to be about the game? Hit him up about the coaches box in the presser

The refereeing was OK, but I can't help thinking he bottled a few big calls. Hooper was offside from the kick, but did it really impact the play? It looked to me like Korobiete made contact as he tried to chip it through, which would have put him onside. Was that looked at? No.

    The Moore obstruction call was a fair one, but Robshaw was way offside to begin with;

Yeah, the ref clearly asked the TMO to check the offside but then it became a bit of an afterthought when they started obsessing about the obstruction due to Farrell's whinging.

Also agree re: the first try, they didn't even check if Korobiete touched it before making the decision.

Bloody tough calls against the Wallabies, and some opportunistic tries from England who as always are bloody tough to beat at Twikenham. Hugely frustrating game to watch for Wallabies fans, my better half was ropeable after the match.

You're kidding right? A player is miles in front of a kick, then in the ensuing chase he is first there, because he had a head start, scores a try and you ask did it "impact the play".

And there's no Law that says a second kick puts a man onside. He is put onside by not moving forward and being passed by an on-side player (or the opposition playing the ball, provided he's not within the 10m of where the ball landed). If he moves up-field before then he cannot be put onside by his own players.

@chester-draws just this minute seen that on the replay, fair call he was always offside, didn't stop or retreat as you must do being the only way to get onside.

As for the interview....Chieka is a cock, he needs to take a good hard look at himself, but the interviewer needs a rocket for trying to egg something that needed no egging.

I think with an ego like his he looks at himself a fair bit, he just doesn't see what the rest of the world sees. Woodward must be a bit worried , having passed Jake White already Gatland and Krusty are in a race to the bottom to take his spot as the most contemptible human to ever coach a rugby team.

    Larkham?

He graduated from clown school some time ago and is fully fledged.

Have seen the highlights package and have no real problem with any of those calls.

You could argue that Robshaw still got hold of Koroibete and couldn't stop the try, but the letter of the law puts Moore in a bad position for that. Also: fucking stupid Moore should have just run a better support line.

I saw a screenshot floating around stating Robshaw "never got onside" but he did.

Bit of a blowout by the looks, but the penalty count and two yellow cards doesn't look good for us. Neither does Cheika reacting to the crowd.

A crumb of comfort for Oz is that they played through the sinbin periods very well - most of their problems happened when they had a full complement on the pitch.

And the worst thing was that Moore got in the way so there was no definitive camera angle showing that Koroibete had grounded the ball if the obstruction call was dismissed.

@rancid-schnitzel Had our club AGM last night and I got President again, so I've got more pressing shit to think about, rugby wise.

Overall, I'm fairly sanguine at the moment about where the Wallabies are headed. The loss to England was expected, and I look forward to England fans spitting chips next time a TMO call is perceived to go against them.

All that said, we need to put Scotland to the fucking sword and at least earn our current ranking.

I didn't notice it on live viewing, but watching the highlights, seeing how Kurtley Beale simply gave up on the ball that dribbled close to the touchline was embarassing. He easily had that ball covered had he tried. What a goof.
Bounce was extremely unlucky, of course, but it's a rugby ball, you dickhead!

Well, i finally got round to watching Cheika's post match presser with Sky and in truth I was pretty disappointed. I was expecting and had been led to believe, that there was going to be rabid frothing at the mouth and a complete implosion. I thought he was OK really.

it's a shame when your biases are proven groundless.
