It's funny how different people will think different things are "Awesome stuff you see on the internet"<br />
<br />
Not a piss take, Tim, far from it, I'm just admiring what your definition of Awesome is <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

That clip is apparently a fake;<br />
<br />
The makers of the clip are Normand Archambault, Loïc Mireault and Félix Marquis-Poulin, 3 students in the "Production Simulation Workshop" class of the Bachelors degree in 3D Animation and Digital Design at at Montreal's Centre NAD.<br />
Their class holds an annual hoax the intenet competition. I say they win the 2012 title (posted elsewhere by Gibbit)

Hey, it's the Beeb. I've had two different people send me that clip over the years asking me about it, but truthfully, I'd never heard of the Haast Eagle until I was outside NZ. Thing looks like something out of Middle-earth.

Ever since R.A. Dickey became my new hero, I can't stop being mesmerized by the guy's magic. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Batters in the past used to say that Nolan Ryan could make a ball rise, throwing at 104 MPH, but physicists claimed it was an optical illusion from the speed. However Dickey's ball really does seem to defy gravity. His knuckleball pitch here is likely in the low-to-mid 80's - looking at the barrel of the bat, the catchers mitt and the path of the ball, it clearly jumps in mid-flight. It tickles me that so many fanboys are spending their time creating these cool gifs.

My brother did this to my sister once told her for months how he had got her toilet paper for xmas then wrapped it in a weird way to look like something else.<br />
<br />
She burst into tears as well and we all rolled around laughing. He had gotten her a decent present as well, it did not ruin xmas just gave us all a great story to tease her about.

look, I know it's not nice to laugh at other peoples' misfortune/accidents, and doubly so as they are females, but I bring you this. I'm not sure how I ended up finding it, but I did. Some of these (the less painful ones) are very amusing, as the fairer sex struggle with issues of coordination, timing and balance.<br />

Hmmmm, my skepticism says that shark vid seems dubious. Either the footage is faked, or it was shot somewhere other than Lake Huron (which is a massive lake, and the first hint about it's authenticity is it's failure to identity a location as being anywhere other than "backyard"). Some small sharks can live in fresh water, and even Great Whites can go a couple miles upstream in creeks and estuaries near salt water, but a trip from the ocean to Lake Huron is a thousand miles and would have to traverse the Lachine Rapids, Lake Ontario, Niagara Falls (or the locks of the Welland Canal), Lake Erie, Lake St. Clair, and the Detroit River ... phew ... just typing all that makes me think there's no bloody way. I call a hoax (or else it's a small lake in Florida). Great Whites swimming in Lake Taupo would be a cakewalk by comparison.
