I'm also really struggling to understand the logic of resting players during this series. Bowlers maybe, though Southee hasn't exactly had a lot of cricket lately.

Batsmen though, they need time in the middle to build form/confidence. Batting isn't very hard on the body, I really don't see why Kane wouldn't play every game of the home summer.

We do look more at the Windies level if Kane and/or Rossco aren't there. I would have thought given the dearth of opportunities this summer that they'd want as much time in the middle as possible.

@MN5 I'd be pretty pissed at missing out on an opportunity to pad the average if I was him.

Rosscos test career is looking pretty damn impressive at the minute too.

Was searching the interweb for game highlights (very hard to find except for vids of a play station game thing???) and found a site that listed the openers as:
    C Munro,
    G H Employee

I reckon they're basically having Christmas at home.

I, for one, am outraged that they'll therefore only play 24 of the 27 consecutive white-ball games.

I remember when "every game of the home summer" was 6 games. 3 tests and 3 ODIs (sometimes 4 ODIs)

It's also pretty shit that Bravo, Pollard, Russell etc can't be fucked playing for their home nation.

Far too busy kicking the boot (repeatedly) into Veitch.

Big over from Nicholls before , very impressive innings

Nicholls finishes with his highest score of 83*
Impressive last few overs, 68 from the last 5 to finish on 325/6

Astle seems to know how to hold a bat too.

Santner's ODI numbers are really good, so he's probably safe, but great to see Astle go well this series. He's a very handy player.

Yeah they are fucking dire. I've been keeping an eye on proceedings today but have to admit the interest is waning a bit.
