      So is Williamson injured???

I understand the need to rest sometime duringvthe year but not the fucking captain in the heightvof the fucking season. That'd be like restinga fit Read for the EOYT

Apologies for my profanity if he is injured, and if he is not, it's the most fucking ridiculous decision ever - he's the fucking captain!

@siam Wouldn't it be more like resting Read for a June test series?

I've already ranted about resting Kane earlier in the thread. Ridiculous.

@no-quarter I'm with you bro. I can't find a semblance, a smidgen of "sounds reasonable" for that decision.

Don't know but I'd bet the house that Kane would prefer playing

Another very non-competitve game, I really wanted to see them have a good go at this total. They have a very poor team though.

He's quoted as saying he won't know what to do with himself, and it will be hard watching from the sidelines. Hesson saying they're trying to ensure the top players don't get burnt out or something. Bowlers... yeah that might make sense. Batsmen just want to bat all day though.

Far fewer excuses for their T20 squad. But they've been weak sauce yet again. Go Phillips!! Great effort that man.

                  All over rover.

Great debut for Phillips, against a poor opposition but that'll do his confidence some good.

                  WI outclassed again.

If batting for 3 hours, 3 times a week in a month burns him out, well then it's his job to get burnt out!

Logging on to the interweb and seeing the Black Caps have cruised to a victory.

                      This is a massive surprise.

Point of order - not Phillips' debut - but, you'd be forgiven for forgetting his previous efforts.

Looks like we're batting. Kane Williamson in for Ross Taylor which is a bit like Richie McCaw stepping in for Josh Kronfeld.

Pretty fucken hard to see anything except a big total and a piss poor effort in chasing it to be honest.

Yeah, depends on whether the ball does a bit due to the overhead conditions. Could be a bit of a leveller.

Rubbish shot from Guptill, and he's off. 3/1, Kane to the crease.

Guptill had one shortish (22 balls) T20 innings for Auckland before being chucked into this series. Looks pretty underdone!

Not to be a wowser - but, this Tui one-handed catch promotion will end in tears.

Kid in Nelson got hit in the head by a deflection.

For $50K someone's going to launch themselves somewhere they shouldn't.

Munro is an awesome pinch hitter. I've been a fan of the pinch hitter since the days of Kaluwitharana and Jayasuriya, so I'm pretty happy with the way they're using him in T20s and ODIs.

@no-quarter Yeah - he's looking much better suited to this top order role than batting at 5 or 6.

Pinch hitter in T20 makes complete sense. I'm not averse to it in ODIs either - as long as there's sufficient batting lower down to cover the inevitable failures.
