54/5 but that little Fakhar is hanging around.

A very, very good bowling performance on the back of a very, very good batting one. You’d feel is going to become even more oppressive for PAK as the pressure of the chase takes its toll.

Spinners getting smashed ( relatively speaking )

Probably not smart going with two spinners (although the BCs are still cruising). Another pace bowler, maybe Matt Henry, would have been good in hindsight. Comms are suggesting Munro might get an over or two.

I think overall we are pretty good. We have a chance against anyone at home. Last summer, however, should have told us that we are a fair bit behind South Africa although we weren't embarrassed against them. Overall we are probably about 5th in ODIs and Tests.

    @sneakdefreak

I hear he’s not very keen on training. He’s a lazy Fakhar.

    Rain and they're off.

166 for 6. Nowhere near the DLS score of 227.

Law 29.4 applies, but basically if the ball strikes the wicket, it's up to the umpire to decide if that's sufficient.

I've watched heaps of the Australasian summer of cricket and the quickest bowler I've seen is kiwi.

    Albeit with a basin tailwind

Saw a few clocked at 149km.

I remember Doull talking about the speed ball radar and how it gives three readings. In NZ we take the middle reading, whereas Aus take the fastest. So if this was in Aus they'd be clocking him above 150km.

I think his highest was 153.4 actually. Much better than Milne so hopefully he can become a genuine wicket taking threat rather than just a bowler we select because he is fast.

We already select spinners who can't spin it so fast bowlers don't necessarily have to be really fast.

Black Caps win by 61 runs thanks to the Daffy Duck system.

The Black Caps juggernaut rolls on. Great to see Kane find form, and Southee was superb in his opening spell - sealed the match for us.

Loving the team at the moment - well coached, great culture, some depth and some world class players to boot.

Yep, good result for the Black Caps, despite a fair few soft dismissals with the bat we performed well in all 3 facets. I don't think there's much doubt that we would have won if we'd been able to play through all the allotted overs, but I do feel a bit for Fakhar who had been batting well and would likely have picked up a century in a losing cause.

We've had some dead set legends in the time I've watched the team. Paddles, Crowe, Cairnsy, Vettori and Bond ( backed up by any number of triers/journeymen ) to name a few but I don't recall the team as a unit ever being this good. Long may it continue.
