El Camino Christmas
A guy heads to el Camino in search of a father he has never known, but catches the eye of some dodgy sheriffs (Vincent D'onofrio) after which chaos ensues.
Also stars Tim Allen, Red from that 70s show, Jessica Alba Along with a couple other recognisable faces.
3.5 dodgy cops out of 5 stray bullets

So true, caught this movie on Sky thought it was tedious apart from the car chase. Easy rider is another one with cult status I watched and still don’t see what the fuss was about.
I'd have to put Deer Hunter in a similar bracket. Some incredibly powerful scenes but parts of it dragged on like no one's business.
-
Watched a movie called "Miss Sloan" on the weekend. Jessica Chastain is a high profile lobbyist working for a prestigious firm who quits to work for a firm trying to get a gun control bill passed.
Film is essentially a story about the US political system, and what parts of yourself you need to give up to succeed in it.
I thought it was fucking great, so was surprised to see such a low IMDB score. Then you read the reviews, and there are an awful lot of one-star reviews from people who just thought it was anti-gun, or anti-old white guys, and voted/reviewed just to call it bullshit. Thumbs up dickheads.

I was dragged reluctantly to see the new “Paddington 2” movie. Holy crap, it’s a movie about an escape from a high security prison. Very inventive. I loved it. 8/10

Yeah, I haven't heard anything bad about Paddington 2 - plus the first one was quite good, even with Nicole Kidman.

This ones got Hugh Grant instead . Really liked the first one.

Apparently he's brilliant in it. I don't dislike him with a passion like Kidman.
-
I haven’t seen the first one, had no interest, but I want to see it now. Hugh Grant was very good playing the role of villain/heel. Funnily enough, when I watched there were way more adults in the cinema than kids.
-
Hugh Grant is up there with Sarah-Jessica Parker for me as actors films I avoid purely cos they are in them!
-
Hugh works well in the role because he is so unlikeable. Perfect casting. He plays a vain, ruthless, narcissistic actor. Good to see Noah “The Nostradamus KId” Taylor getting a paycheck, too.

Finished all the Jurassic movies with the boy, watching Jurassic World in the weekend.
I only saw it at the movies and not again since, but holy crap that's a fun movie. The boy was jumping up and down cheering when the raptor and the T-Rex were fighting the Indominus Rex at the end. All round awesomeness, can't wait for the next installment.
-
@no-quarter ha, we watched that on the weekend too, and I had family over from the UK and their 7 year old son was exactly the same, leaping about cheering and the like for that.
Also don't mind Bryce Dallas-Howard either.

Train to Busan , Korean horror film about trying to escape a zombie apocalypse on a train . Enjoyable enough way to spend 90 minutes or so , three Korean baseball players weilding their bats out of five.
Sounds fucken awesome!
-
yeah I thought Train to Busan was good too, slightly different zombies to change things up too.

Train to Busan
I watched that last year - a good movie. There were characters you liked and others you despised.
Yeah and some great suspense scenes too. There’s another Korean movie called my way I want to see but I can’t find a way yet.
-
I think they're making an English language version, which will have some people complaining they'll ruin it - but Korean movies like this one are so over the top melodramatic that I don't see how they could ruin it. They'll just make a different movie.
Great movie, the (relatively) big dude was awesome.
