@mn5 Fucking Taita. Or are you looking to move up in the world, Pomare on the cards? Maybe Naenae?

Feeble attempt to try and put yourself on a level with a Bourner.

Taita was a bit of a hole when I was growing up. But don't knock Naenae!!!!

I lived in Taita when I was a kid. Naenae and Taita are what Trump would correctly term shitholes.

Funny thing is I never noticed when growing up. Naenae was a great place to live, and bravado aside Taita wasn't that bad. I'm sure if I went back for a look now the contrast to my current life would be huge

We knew it was a dump when we first moved in back in the days when you had to wait days or the predecessor to telecom to put the phone on and there wasn’t a phone box for miles around our house that wasn’t trashed .

You live in fucken P town. Stop making out you're like Scribe and you're out of the 'hood' now.....

    P town?

Porirua. It also contains Whitby , Camborne , Paremata , Plimmerton and Aotea. Taita has no similar way to mitigate its ferality, not sure if you’ve visited the “ Taita mall” lately but ffs it’s a depressing place.
Naenae , Wingate , Epuni all rock a similarly post apocalyptic vibe.

I haven't lived in Wellies since 1991 when I left for uni, even then Porirua was a hellhole(sorry Jerry). I lived in Maungaraki once, and went to school in Epuni and Naenae. Was good then, now? Not so sure....

Yeah the school at cannons creek is decile 1a, that’s actually a pretty small part of the town though. Titahi bay is down to two streets you’d class as shitholes . Elsdon is still a dump.

Haha I didn't know any better! Back in the 80s Naenae (well Waddington estate) was a nice place to grow up.

I love it when those from the lower part of the Hutt compare their shit for corn.

You don't hear those from the upper region arguing the difference between Mangaroa and Ebdentown.

I never heard of Ebdentown before now. Is upper hutt any better? The cut off point is Stokes valley which is only marginally better then the other dumps.

    @jegga

Jeez, the knuckle draggers of Stokes Valley are a category to themselves. Put tollgates up on the Eastern Hutt Road and they would inbreed themselves into extinction.

I'm happy to maintain the cleverly manipulated public perception of UH being a shithole so we can enjoy the parks, breweries and peace and quiet safe in the knowledge that the buffers of Lower Hutt scare away the easily frightened.

Someone needs to stop you Wellington bogans having your bogan-off and get this thread back on track.

War Machine: Brad Pitt Netflix general, based on True Story about one of the US commanders in Afghanistan. It was almost a Coen Brothers-eqsue comedy, where the Brad Pitt character could have also been played by Clooney (I think their company produced it).
35000 Troops on the ground out of 50000 drone strikes.

Was away for work so watched three movies in the Hotel.

Justice League. Good Grief that rocked! Totally surprised

Thor Ragnorak: Was cringing at the beginning but really enjoyed it. Who was the actor playing the big blue guy. Sounded like the whale from the Chups sketch.

Baywatch. Actually laughed at some of the gags at the beginning but that was the highlight. Rest was dross.

Baywatch had a couple of really awesome gags then turned into a confused mess.

I'm totally surprised too, did they release another Justice League movie already? 😉

I thought it was a decent enough watch, but not in comparison to Thor.

I seem to be on a sandals and leather action binge lately. Last night watched Gods of Egypt, and have to say, the whole whitewashing wah wah is the least of that movie's problems. By far the biggest is a story that makes no fucking sense whatsoever, and is several plotlines that get shoved in every so often to jolt you into another round of WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON.
It doesn't help that Horus and Bek (allegedly the hero and his trusty sidekick are two annoying pissants who I actually wanted Set to kill. But he didn't. He just killed everyone else.) Actually, every god except Set seems to have wandered in from another movie because they sure as hell don't act fearsome or worthy of worship in any way (Ra, is supposed to be the king god, and spends his time floating in space on some sort of ship). Plotholes aplenty, and worse, the movie breaks its own world rules all the time, oh yeah, and don't get me started on the range of accents. Lol. The CGI ranges from kind of cool to stupid, and then they turn transformer at the end and fight and pissant hero wins and a big giant fucking MEH.
I'll grudgingly give one star for the delish biceps and abs on display, but that is about it.

The Foreigner - a Netflix movie with Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan. Bresnan is very good and Chan is (an old man) Chan.
Revenge type movie that's a good watch.
3.5 choreographed fight scenes out of 5 overdone Irish accents
