Started binge watching Billions. Seems like someone watched Suits, House of Cards and Wolf of Wall St and then wrote a screenplay.
Feel this needs to get better as I could easily lose interest before the second season.

@jc I was looking at that just now and came here to ask if anyone had seen it.
@Tim problem is, you dislike a number of shows I am happy enough watching, so often have to remove you as an anomoly
Finished S2 of The Good Place...a bit out there in parts, but still easy watch, especially at 21-22mins an ep!
Balls, I didn't know that was the finale of S2. Crap. I think it's a great show, up there with the best sitcoms.

@nepia ha, my bad, just checked IMDB and I have 2 more eps to go, for some reason thought there were only 10, sweet!
I've watched all 12.

@antipodean it definitely gets better. Another top ten for me. But maybe that's not saying much...

Macgyver.
hated the original of this in the 80's but had a squizz at the remaake. Quite goddamn enjoyable. He's still fashioning hydrogen bombs in 5 seconds using nothing more than his gruds, some navel lint and his dog's snot but this time at least there's some fun writing going on.
But, really, what has my attention is the chick. "Riley". Holy shitballs she is spunkier than all the combined spoof on Planet Please Cum To Me, Rockbottom
She is built TO HELL.
Did I mention her looks? She is hotter than the sun if the bastard caught fire.
The skintight jeans oh Lord I actually PAUSED the telecast a few times just so I could Feel Good About Bad Thoughts.
I'm gonna watch it purely based on this review.

Better late than never. Billions is a great show. I'm looking forward to S3.

How Every Character Was Cast on The Wire

Nostalgia is a helluva drug (massive spoiler for the new Star Trek)
:::
Actually got goosebumps. Interesting to see how they handle a younger Spock and Captain Pike.
Star Trek Discovery is starting to hit it straps (average finale aside), has some interesting takes on the Trek universe. And even tits and arse (even if some of it is Klingon) for MN5.

Discovery is really dreadful. It tried to be Game of Thrones in space in the second half, and it's just dopey, poorly written, charmless schlock. Looks good though.
It hasn't presented a single interesting idea. Problems are solved because the awful lead character has a genius idea that is never revealed. She wins all the fights too.
They just introduce a bunch of unconnected events and sequences in rapid and random order, never connecting them or building for a payoff.
Garbage. Worst of all it presents a lame and generic "dark" sci-fi future that is completely unappealing. Who gives a shit about saving that federation. There's no earned stakes.

don't think I mentioned this before...
Gunpowder, with Jon Snow, although think it is Tom Cullen who plays Guy Fawkes and a unhot Liv Tyler, as you might guess by a character, based on the attempt to blow up Parliament.
Anywho, 1 historical moment out of 3 pretty boring episodes.

Just finished Billions S1. I thought it was great Ep 1 - 6, then it lost the plot a bit for a few episodes and then it got good again on the home straight.
Then it completely ruined it all with the showdown in the offices at the end. WTF. I was laughing through that whole scene.
One other problem with the show is that Paul Giamatti's character is just so unikeable whereas Major Winters is likeable, even when he does shitty stuff.
Anyway, I have S2 to look forward to now, so that's all good.

Watched one episode. Aside from some gruesome executions it was boring as batshit and Liv Tyler as you mentioned looks like hammered shit. Jon Snow not being Jon Snow didn't help either.
Have just started Counterpart. Two episodes in and looks extremely promising. Nice plot.
