I don't subscribe to all the outrage, but Jones is a total fuckwit.
He's a reactionary bigot who hides behind "I was only taking the piss - don't you have a sense of humour?" If only what he wrote was occasionally funny or he hadn't undermined that argument by a succession of fits of piqué over the years.
Quite why NBR choose to have him as a columnist is beyond me. Surely he and his opinions are irrelevant today. He's George Wood with a slightly better turn of phrase

NBR were about the only news outlet he hadn’t fallen out with , he was hidden behind a paywall too. The article wasn’t funny , the one about having a Gareth Morgan statue was great though. In the 70s before he fell out with the evening post he discovered the horoscopes were written by the most junior reporter and then passed on to the next. He offered to do it and would put in random weird stuff until he started putting in things like “ true love awaits you in Westport, you must go immediately “ at which point they took the job off him and gave it back to the junior reporter.
I don’t agree he’s a bigot though, he tries to offend every race , creed , religion or sexuality he possibly can . His schtick is just pretty old and dated now.

Would seem I had it so much easier in my day having to go to a pub or bar, eye up someone I thought looked nice and get my mate to go ask her out for me!

@jegga bigot is used as a synonym for prejudiced but it truly means intolerant of someone with a different point of view. So you can be a bigot without being racially or in other ways prejudiced.[/pedant]
I would categorise Jones as an equal opportunity bigot - and a knob.

Well that makes me a bigot too and probably a few other people here. I’ve got no time for the opinions of people on either side of the political extreme.

That's a good thing though. Tinder always told me if I had any mutual friends on Fagbook with any matches so I could screen them from said mutual friend for any potential psychobitchness and in turn they could make sure I wasn't Gabe Tostee. Win/Win.

It comes as the body of a man was reportedly found in Hamburg covered in sliced cheese with pantyhose pulled up over his upper body, while he was wearing a diving suit and a raincoat.

A surprise is that Jones wrote a column that wasn’t about “wets”, men with beards, women called Kylie, people with sunglasses on their heads, and/or cellphone users ad nauseam...

I'm a bit on the fence with him. He wrote some crap about never ever trusting blokes called 'Kevin' which was downright weird but as I said he certainly isn't afraid to say what he thinks.

Similar incident her in the UK last week, only difference was the man was wearing a Scotland rugby shirt. The ambulance crew removed the shirt to save the family from embarrassment.
