There's a logic, but a fucking amazing-to-watch fucked up logic, there.

It would be amazing if the world was flat the way they describe with the ice wall all around us. I can see why some people want to believe that.

@jegga I think you've misunderstood the "logic". Sherpas are poor. Therefore sherpas have to lift things which is an unrewarding and unimportant job, when they should be doing rewarding and important jobs like running a blog, a lecturer in intersectional studies or suchlike. This is exploitative. All exploitation is done by white people, as everybody knows, because of white privilege, which is a fact proven by several autoethnographic studies. If Japanese people are having sherpas carry their gear up a hill that's because white people created the market.
Frankly I'm surprised that in this day and age everybody doesn't know this, if you don't its because you're white. Or a person of colour with internalised racism. Either way you're a disgrace.

@jegga You're welcome. It was an insight I gained through identifying as a woman since last Wednesday. You'd be surprised how much wiser I've become. You should try it. Next week I'm going to identify as a person of colour, then I'll know everything.
I'll check out the doc if I can find it. To be honest I wouldn't want their lives, but I'll bet they thank fuck for the mountains every day or the Maoists would have turned it into the Asian Venezuela by now.

Maybe the writer of that comment should have a chat with Ang Dorjee, who returns every climbing season on a break from his 'day job' as a wind turbine mechanic in Washington state USA to 'carry a white man' to the top alongside himself.
He may note that Ang Dorjee was assisted in his education, initially by local schools set up by the evil white man Hillary, then by partly sponsored studies supplemented by earnings as a guide. Oh, and then he married a 'white man' (that is actually a woman) who he met on one of these heinous expeditions. -

The best internet scam is used by the creeps who describe themselves as "masculine presenting, gender non-binary". i.e. they're straight dudes who fuck women but claim to be trans and queer, and don'r even dress up. @jegga That's quite an interesting read, though written from a slightly strange perspective. I think there are bigger things to worry about than that we might be being re-colonized by some somewhat unusual characters from Silicon Valley.
Just read Thiel's Wikipedia page and he certainly fits into the category of "unusual". He apparently identifies as some sort of Christian, but he's also apparently aiming at living forever, which seems slightly paradoxical!
Interesting to see this popping up on Stuff today.

It is unfair to compare their reliability to other vehicles, just other TVRs.
