He was looking good in the second round but something small went wrong after the first big jump and he just free wheeled to the end. Fingers crossed for a trouble free run next time, oh and all the others crashing out of course.

Round three not far away from starting. Some of the big names are going to have to pull off big runs to live up to their reputations in their final chance at a medal. Naturally there are big risks they will have to take and with that there are big chances they might take a tumble. Still CGK will probably have to do likewise as his score is under serious pressure and vulnerable to challengers at the moment.

Looks like CGK will have to win his way back into the medals on his last run... yep... bugger.

It’s ok, we can’t seriously call snowboarders Olympic athletes..

    From NZ Herald's live feed:

"On this course you have to be perfect... the last run I was really nervous up top," he said, saying it just didn't go his way.

I've come up with a change that can make the Winter Olympics more enthralling from a spectator's perspective. I'd change the biathlon to shoot at snowboarders as they appear over the parapet on the half-pipe.

Right we are now about to become experts in the 5000m long track skating after Peter Michael takes the lead by 0.08 seconds with just a few more pairs (including the world record holder) to skate. Fingers crossed everyone. Live coverage currently on Sky Sport channel 55.

It was a good effort from him. Leading at one stage before the better athletes had their turn. Not sure where he finished up but I think he was guaranteed top six.

    4th

    That is an awesome effort.

If we can get into finals and get top 10s for 80% of our athletes it will be a top games.

I know very little about our chances in anything other than the freestyle skiing/boarding but with the rest of the programme we are a punchers chance, like CGK last night. There are better competitors but we can be up there to pounce on an opportunity should the chance arise.
I like the new scoring system in the slopestyle though and they can pay off on our scores. Previously you could get someone like Bobby Brown hardly do a thing on the rail section, then get a big score on the back of a triple at the last jump.
