Really impressed with the Scotsman Murray Douglas who played for the Taniwha last year,calling the shots at lineout time and very good around the paddock,also Chase Tiatia,damn the man is elusive..!

Blues look like they need another week of training.. Even in the first half the Canes looked sharper and more organised

Good hitout for both teams,don’t know If you can read too much into the 2nd half given all the changes,

26m a couple of observations;Canes look to have the stronger scrum,TJ Perenara looking classy.
@steven-harris Don't agree with the scrums observations, they are even. Blues forwards look solid, maul defence and goal line D look good.

@stargazer Ihaia looked dangerous as always,a couple of nice touches with the boot,really at the end of the day,he’s just keeping the seat warm for Barrett but he I think he will benefit from the style that the Canes bring to the table.
Jonah Lowe looked really good,deceptively strong for his size,and we all know how quick he is.
Gareth Evans is an exceptional athlete,with an awesome work rate,covered a lot of ground,it was interesting that he packed down at 8.
