@virgil at your pace, you will be finished just in time for season 2!
I need something to fill the void until the final season of Game of Thrones (April 2019)
Looks pretty good so far, given it’s based on a Micheal Crichton story and set in a theme park in just wondering when do we see the T Rex and other Dinosaurs running amuck?

@virgil the clue is in the name, Westworld, you need to watch Jurrasic World for those!
The lead is pretty hot, don’t normally go for people called Evan..

I’m always quick to pick up on new shows so it’s no surprise I started watching this little low key series called Westworld. Looks to be quite good...
“These violent delights have violent ends.”
I watched Westworld again over Xmas/New Years. It was good to view again after reading about all the clues because there is so much stuff going on.

Only 3 eps in but really enjoying it. Looks to be a show with a ton of layers and twists/surprises. Obvious one being who’s real and who’s a host.

Yes, there are plenty of twists and it all makes sense at the end.
The promo for S2 was released at the Super Bowl so watch that when you have finished S1.
Too late! Watching that is what got me to give season 1 a try
Watched a few YouTube vids too.. -
Looking forward to Jessica Jones coming out 8 March!

Altered Carbon, I flagged it after 1.5 episodes. Shit writing fails to engender comraderie. Spend all the money you like on whizz bang effects. Comraderie seems to be the common denominator with the shows I like. Pals and fluffybunnies and fluffybunnies who sometimes become pals. That's all you need. Speaking of which, Billions season 3 March 25th. That is a big fucking YES.
Bang on, I lasted half an episode longer than you. It did annoy me though cos it was sensational to start with.
Up to episode 5 in Counterpart which is about a million times more interesting and cerebral with the odd bit of gratuitous violence thrown in.
Without giving too much away it says something about JK Simmons as an actor that you can tell straight away which version of Howard is on screen. Sensational performance.

Altered Carbon
I'm not minding this after 4 episodes.
The lack of details around what the fuck was going on was irritating in the first two eps, but then there is a hell of a lot of violence and enough nudity coming through in later eps to keep me going.
The premise of immortality in a semi-dystopia is also interesting, along with body-swapping. Spoiler alert: Bancroft's wife is a bit of a slut, but after 100 years of marriage you probably would. Its what her daughter does that is most amusing.
It probably tries a bit too hard to be a scifi crime noir thing at times, but I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt, because its good enough.
-
@nta I'm 7 eps in and still watching, but then it would take a fuck up of monumental proportions for me to bail at this point.
Nudity levels dropped off a bit, but still lotsa killing and blowing shit up!
@ your comment re the wife and daughter....

I finished watching S3 of Fargo last week. I enjoyed it, but not as much as S1 and S2. Obi-Wan's Minnesota accent drifted in and out too, which was a little annoying.
Next up was The Punisher. Could have done with more violence.
Now I'm watching Godless. Only 2 eps in so far. It has promise.

okay, read and loved Altered Carbon the book. Reviews everywhere very mixed. For those that read the book, is this worth it?

Just finished a BBC series called Requiem, bout a Celloist (sp??) on the verge of the bigtime (for a celloist) when her mother suddenly kills herself.
This leads to a discovery of some information amongst her mothers belongings that leads her to a story of a little girl that went missing from a Welsh village some 20 years prior.
It has a supernatural element to it, but isn't overdone, although the last ep wasn't that great, but overall, decent at only 6 eps.
