Pretty good bowling in the last 10. We didn't get Buttler, but getting Moeen and Woakes helped.

Sodhi and Santner bowled well; Southee was excellent. Good outcome on that ground.

When yo uconsider our fifth bowler was a combo of Munro and de Grandhomme, it's bloody good. Those boys are power hitters, and they got away with the dibbley dobblers against some quality batting.

now we need to really bat well.

@nzzp Munro gone early - there goes the "lazy man's way to riches". 🙂

Have to work hard for this now.

Not sure what to make of this pitch - looked like it became progressively harder to score - most likely as the ball got softer.

We need the dew to help us, because I'm inclined to think England has actually posted something above par.

Another failure from Williamson at a pedestrian pace. Hmm...

Irritating, as an inform Williamson would (should) be tailor made for batting on a surface like this.

Going to take a bit to win from here.

Black Caps continuing their mediocrity against anyone decent.

    28/3

We’ll be rolled for under 200

Guppy gone as well - 28/3 after 10 overs and I think we can chalk this one in the "disasters" column.

Have seen Kane do this time and time again this summer. He thinks that he is allowed to waste balls at the start and then score freely later. That's a good theory if you can indeed catch up, but more times than not, the pressure of not scoring is going to get to you and you will go out as a result. Dumb play. Guptill did the same thing but he normally doesn't do this so will cut him some slack.

Tom Latham doing a good job in presumably what is his designated role - re-building when we get a shit start.

Not completely convinced that it's a legitimate role for a wicket-keeper - we might be better to have a bigger hitter playing behind Nicholls - and in this instance take our medicine with a heavy loss, but Tommy can prove me wrong.

We might also have not judged this pitch quite right and perhaps should have played Ferguson instead of two spinners.

Great fight back from Latham and Taylor. We need one of these guys to go deep to have a chance here.

We're back to slightly behind England's comparative score - but, a wicket to the good!

Wowwee, what a pleasant and unexpected surprise.

Went to mow the lawns at 50/3, and now look. Latham and Rosco doing a great rebuilding job.

    Almost game on..... almost.

Taylor and Latham showing how you accumulate a fucking total. Respect the good balls, smash the bad ones to the boundary, a few easy singles.

Kind of shows up Kane's effort even more. He's woefully out of form right now, which really sucks when you know how gifted a batsman he is.

Latham almost loses his wicket after losing his patience then Woakes hands him an easy 4 off the last ball of the over. Lucky

Latham might be cramping up so Roscoe is saving him from running by bashing a couple of 4s

We've got ourselves into a winning position now, so picking a comfortable loss in the end.
