Movie review thread...

Watched the Kill Bills over the weekend. The 2nd shits all over the first basically cos I left my brain on the pillow the moment Uma slaughtered a small army of sword wielding gooks without a scratch ( at least the violence in all his other movies is pretty realistic ). Despite that a very cool performance from her and David Carradine and Michael Madsen ( I always love his work, his best QT performance by far ) in the second......
So after seeing that my revised Tarantino rankings are as follows.....
Pulp Fiction
Inglorious Basterds
Jackie Brown
Reservoir Dogs
Kill Bill vol 2
Django unchained
H8ful 8
Kill Bill vol 1
Death Proof -

I need to watch both Kill Bills again.
I put True Romance in my top 3. OK, Tarantino didn't direct it (Tony Scott did) but he was the writer.
The Dennis Hopper-Christopher Walken scene is brilliant.
Great flick but I haven't seen it in years and not sure it truly counts to be honest.

Fucking Netflix will only play at low bitrate 480p now. I am being tortured for posting a bitchy comment about one of their properties.
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they are not watching you bro.

@tim so even Portman cant save it?
Imagine how much worse it would be without her.
I finally got around to watching (most) of the latest Star Wars movie. I turned it off with about half an hour to go. That's where my relationship with Star Wars has got to.

So I rewatched Black Panther, and I still like it, but I think the biggest issue with it was 'Black Panther'. It's called Black Panther but he's really a secondary character for much of the movie and seems quite boring alongside the other characters. Which is kind of the opposite of what he was in Civil War where he was the cool character with the fun action scenes.
@antipodean So did your relationship with Star Wars make it through the prequels only to end now?

It gets worse with repeated viewings.
It's so crap I'll probably only watch it another 10 or so times....

@taniwharugby I really don't like her as an actress, so she was a detractor for me.
It soon dropped to 360p in quality, so I gave up and watched something from my hard-drive.

@taniwharugby Did you watch Wolf Warrior 2? That looks like it might be fun.

Restrepo
Was on Netflix and I'd heard good things.
Pretty good style I thought: let the subjects tell the story. Pretty confronting to see those young blokes get their emotions fucked up with the death of a popular dude, and how they deal with shit day to day. Most of them are kids FFS.

Tomb Raider - Well the positive is that Alicia Vikander is in every scene. And that's about it, it's a pretty average film.
Although, TBF, they did stick make it feel like a game with the tasks they did and the running and jumping - but that my have been why it was so average, a whole movie of cut-away scenes ....
The worse thing is they were setting up for more films - Croft isn't yet the ultra competent game version.
