@tim so even Portman cant save it?

Imagine how much worse it would be without her.

I finally got around to watching (most) of the latest Star Wars movie. I turned it off with about half an hour to go. That's where my relationship with Star Wars has got to.

It gets worse with repeated viewings.

It's so crap I'll probably only watch it another 10 or so times....

I'm quite keen to see this movie, the Chinese version of the usual U.S.A. U.S.A style rah rah war movie.

Weird seeing the Chinese roll up in their version of the Humvee.

@nepia I've watched a few Chinese action films lately (subtitled) and they are good fun, like the Hollywood versions.

    Ghostbusters.

Very 80s and very dated and with some fucken horrifically bad special effects.

Bill Murray bloody good as always but the rest is nowhere near as good as I remember. Some movies are best left alone.

@taniwharugby I really don't like her as an actress, so she was a detractor for me.

It soon dropped to 360p in quality, so I gave up and watched something from my hard-drive.

@taniwharugby Did you watch Wolf Warrior 2? That looks like it might be fun.

    Restrepo

Was on Netflix and I'd heard good things.

Pretty good style I thought: let the subjects tell the story. Pretty confronting to see those young blokes get their emotions fucked up with the death of a popular dude, and how they deal with shit day to day. Most of them are kids FFS.

Tomb Raider - Well the positive is that Alicia Vikander is in every scene. And that's about it, it's a pretty average film.

Although, TBF, they did stick make it feel like a game with the tasks they did and the running and jumping - but that my have been why it was so average, a whole movie of cut-away scenes ....

The worse thing is they were setting up for more films - Croft isn't yet the ultra competent game version.

    Wtf
I assumed at first you were reviewing the #metoo men hating rehash from a couple years ago, but you actually mean the 80’s classic?
What was wrong with it? Not enough James Bond references? Was Rose from The Last Jedi in it?

    @tim oh...China salesman

The fight between Mike Tyson and Steven Segal is the highlight of a poor movie, gold!

Poor translation of subs is only one of the issues with this

Nothing 'wrong' as such apart from what I've already mentioned. Go back and watch it and see what you think.

I'd love to see a real life fight between Tyson and Seagal.

I hadn't seen it in years.

I used to love it but now it barely gets a pass.

We were driving back from whakatane this week and the theme popped up on the radio. Kids actually knew it! ( they are only 5 and 7), never seen the movie but it’s beeh played at school before.
They couldn’t yell ‘Ghostbusters!’ loud enough..

It didn't do it for me. Get over it.

Others 80s movies absolutely shit all over it.

It’s ok, not everybody can have good taste.

Ghostbusters is still a fun comedy IMO.

Ben Gazzara in the middle of his aborted hit, in The Killing of a Chinese Bookie, calling his strip club and failing over the telephone to organise the musical numbers - that man deserved some big naturals.
