Letting youtube choose my work soundtrack, it somehow meandered to this classic.

First gig I ever went to, Wellington, 22 March 1995...
then driving up to Auckland the next day, for Pearl Jam on 24 March.

This just came up on a playlist of mine and whenever I hear it I think of this video clip and Steve Marriott setting the moves for all rock guitarists to aspire to. ( around 1.25).

Very very very late to the party, but after watching a Netflix doco I'm seriously into the Eagles.

    Playing this song to death.

I reckon bass player Meisner has a better voice than the two superstars. Incredible group.

I love Joe Walshes solo stuff, happy memories of trips to the tip with the old man and an ice cream afterwards. 'The Smoker you drink, the player you get' is just a superb album but paradoxically I really fucken hate the Eagle and their 'Country Rock'.

Hotel California has THE most boring, tired Guitar solo in history.

Yeah not actually a fan of that song, but probably because I've heard it a million times. I can't stand Lyin Eyes either which seems to get big wraps for some reason. Don Felder must have made a difference when he joined because there was a lot of slow country shit for a while there.

IMHO Joe Walsh just doesn't seem to fit into the group. He looks different, talks different, and probably plays different as well. Apparently he gave them the rock cred Frey was after.

Just because it hasn't been posted for a while and some of you may not get it coming up on your youtube suggestions if you have been hiding your google searches for Hugh Schtits

I wish the two singers would swap outfits

Gutted! Just got an email saying the Shuggie Otis tickets I had were being refunded as his tour is cancelled. That was a gig I was really looking forward to.

Had to console myself with this

Fred Wesley and the new JBs

    woah.

Still kicking myself for selling this LP. Stone cold killer.

    alt text

also kicking myself for not seeing JB when I had the chance. in SF in early 90's, tossup between seeing him for $30 or GG Allin for $5. In the end I was so paralysed by indecision I did neither. Either would have been epic in their own slightly divergent ways...

My chance to see JB live was the cancelled festival he was headlining in NZ years ago. (Electric Picnic or something similar -late 80s). Still pissed off at that one.

This time around in the UK I am trying hard to catch these 'once in a lifetime' chances so when they cancel out it is a bummer.

Probably the most appropriate place for this. The source of music in the USA by year.

Today is "Boring shit before I go on a 5-day break" day at work. I therefore need appropriate tunes.
