Bancroft must be a good actor then, he certainly came across as genuine during the interview. And the footage of him freaking out and hiding the tape.

Sooner this gets fully aired the better. Has got murkier by the day as to who led or was involved in the planning. You'd think Bancroft would have fallen on his sword if it was actually his idea, independent of any input by Smith or other players.

Boof staying silent is the really interesting part - but no doubt we'll know more soon.

Surely it would have been less of a mess of it was just Bancroft, implicating smith and other senior players makes it a much bigger mess.
    This theory makes no sense.

I'm waiting for the 12th man to come out of retirement, he would have a field day with this.

    He posted this yesterday

    The 12th Man

    The 12th Man

I've been too stunned and too sad to even think what I might want to say about the events in South Africa. How dare these clowns tarnish our reputation, and the game itself, in such a disgusting...

Remember that episode of FOTC where Murray and co are at the trade show and their stall is next to the Australian Consulate's one?

Well, NZ just beat England by an innings ...... in case y'all missed it ......

    Jason Gillespie:
We need this information and we need it yesterday because I know of at least one senior player who is outraged that they have been dragged into the dirt by association without having been involved at all.

Starc and Hazlewood have now been mentioned as those players.

It's possible, but it would seem to somewhat defeat the purpose of ball tampering if your leading seamers didn't know what you were doing?

They've really got to give Smith, Bancroft and Warner decent bans to rehabilitate them so that people sort of go "they've done their time". If they go soft on them, the scandal will just play on that much longer - like the booing of Quade Cooper.

I did like the way Smith threw Bancroft under the bus. Front a press conference and turn to the young bloke to your right and ask him to explain himself. Good leadership.

Well according to Cricinfo they don't play another Test until December (though there are unconfirmed reports they are going to Bangladesh at some point before then). Which puts them in a bit of a bind.

A six month ban would see them miss ODIs and T20s in England. That seems the bare minimum. One year would put them out of the home series against India. To me that seems like an overreaction given the public shaming they have been subject to.

And I'd suggest no ban will ever be enough to stop the booing.

Apparently the whole team knew about it.

When the underarm happened they changed the rules around it immediately I think.

The small good to come of this is that most teams will be too shit scared to risk it after this.

After further research, we are pencilled in for one test in Zimbabwe and two tests in Bangladesh in around August.

It seems a no-brainer to sit Warner and Smith for these two series, in addition to the England ODIs. They can then return for the Australian summer for a redemption tour of sorts.

Gives a chance for some new blood, new captain, new coach etc. in a few less intense series away from home.

They should definitely all be banned from future Hadlee/Chappell series as well, least the next 3 - 5 years 😂
