She married David fucking Warner. I did get your point but "lady" might be the wrong term.

So nothing from yesterday or today then? Or was your post referring to comments written about his wife over a week ago?

My post and the one I was responding yo are self evident.

So your post today was in response to comments made over a week ago? Didn't get that impression but thanks for clarification.

I went back to see what I posted that might have been a dig at Warner, I don’t know anything about the guy and until this test series had never heard of him . I had heard of his wife though. The only I could find was a post with a photo the guys wife posed for in a modelling shoot. Not sure how that’s a dig at him particularly given the pictures I’ve seen of him suggest he is punching well above his weight and given that she’s a part time model she consented to the photo shoot.

According to the article : "Sugar granules could be used as an abrasive to help scuff up the ball,".

I suspect it more like the Du Plessis one though. Using the sugar to add shine like he did with the mint lollies?

@baron-silas-greenback And for the record I have spoken to someone who has played with and against Warner about the very topic of sledging and abuse. And he is indeed pretty feral. Off the field he is apparently a bloody nice guy and less arrogant than most of his teamates. But nothing more than a number of other players. He just gets pumped on the field and crosses the line more often than others.
The reaction to him over this is disgusting and more feral than Warner.

Oh good. He's a nice bloke away from cricket. That makes his on field behaviour ok then...

I'm sure we all have aspects of our lives where we act differently in different situations.

I'm sure some people can be really really nice when they're not posting on internet forums.

I agree about posting on forums . Just look at some of the ugly comments about his wife I highlighted.... keyboard warriors indeed.

Yup that would be the obvious reason, a mouth full of sugar then spat onto one side of the ball can have quite an effect.
I think you would have to be pretty naive to believe the Australian team haven’t don’t something like this before, just maybe in such an extreme and premeditated way.

'Smith and Warner used to mock opponents — many will feel it is karma'

I was playing for England against Australia in a one-day international in Sydney and I had just been dismissed for a second-ball duck, lbw to Mitchell Starc. As I was walking off, head down, David Warner charged over and screamed abuse in my face.

    @baron-silas-greenback

I find it difficult, in fact nearly impossible, to believe Warner is a nice guy off the field. Nice guys simply do not do what he does.

They don't spout anger relentlessly and the go all cry-baby when the retaliation is equally brutal. They don't cheat as soon as they look like losing. They don't spout cant about how they'd never do something and then do it. They don't use their kids as shields.

I'm sure he's a decent seeming fellow in the pub when everything is going well and everyone's having a laugh. I'm sure he loves his wife and family. I can even believe he's remorseful, for the moment.

But he'll be just like he always was after a season or two.

So, while I have not particularly laid into him in this thread, I don't think he's been hard done by.

People have been asking him to behave better for years and not only has he ignored them, but he has laughed at the requests. He himself showed little compassion for others caught ball tampering.

I'll show him exactly the same regard as he shows others.

If reports are even half to be believed, I will be joined by his team mates.

Arguably the best headline of the series so far.

It’s a game to be enjoyed as well as a tough contest.

    Fair enough.

I was curious as to why you'd bring up his off field personality. Didn't seem relevant to his ban.

@chester-draws There was also the incident where he punched Joe Root.

On 12 June 2013, Warner was dropped for Australia's second match in 2013 ICC Champions Trophy match against New Zealand following an attack on an England cricketer.[56] It later emerged that this player was Joe Root. The event happened hours after Saturday's loss to England at Edgbaston. According to the sports journalist Pat Murphy, the incident took place at 2 am at the Walkabout bar in the centre of Birmingham, UK. On 13 June 2013, Cricket Australia announced that Warner was to be fined £7,000 (AU $11,500) and would not play for his country until the first Ashes Test on 10 July 2013. Warner subsequently missed the rest of the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy and the tour matches against Somerset and Worcestershire.[57]

Did people listen to Warner's press conference? It sounds like a lawyer told him exactly what to say and what not to say.
