Asshat in Australia annoys a street performer and gets clocked - Best thing I've seen all week and absolutely thoroughly deserved.

    Interesting especially to me:
Many of the booby trap ideas and playful sequences for the film were actually inspired by the Uncle Scrooge comics of Carl Barks, especially the story titled "The Seven Cities of Cibola," which featured a gigantic rolling boulder.

The film was storyboarded heavily, with many concept illustrations done by comic artist Jim Sterenko, utilizing all the stylistic tributes of early soldier-of-fortune silver screen idols.

(I did some video editing on a short doc about Carl Barks and two much longer ones featuring Jim Steranko about Jack Kirby a couple years ago. (Steranko worked at Marvel Comics and is probably most responsible for the character of Sgt. Nick Fury, now being played by Samuel L. Jackson in the Avengers series.))

I found all of this on a new New Yorker story about George Lucas and Steven Spielberg (and Lawrence Kasdan) "spitballing" the original Indiana Jones script, with the entire discussion transcript now available online:
