Just spent a few days off work sick and went looking for something to get my teeth into and rediscovered Deadwood.
Man, I forgot just how fucking good this series is. Every episode has two or three amazing monologues that are at least half swear words and half poetry.
Ian McShane's Swearengin's character is an all time great, as is Timothy Olyphant's Seth Bullock.
Loved the asian dude who said nothing but feed all the bodies to the pigs.
Will keep binging on this but with the sound down low as the wife really doesn't like the continuous swearing.

Yep Swearengen was such an awesome character, always have a look at anything with Olyphant in it since too!
Thought it was nice to see a western series where people behaved and spoke like they did, as you wuold expect in all but lawless town.

Just finished watching 'Flint Town' on Netflix, I think someone on here recommended it. Outstanding, thoroughly enjoyed it. 8 part documentary on the Flint's police force from 2016 - 2017. Flints rated as one of the poorest cities in the USA and also with one of the highest crime rates. All set to the backdrop of their drinking water crisis, the rise of th BLM movement and the US presidential election.

A Brit series from 2015 that I missed first time around has appeared on Netflix. "Unforgotten", starts of like a run of the mill murder procedural but becomes an interesting study in different life decisions of people connected with an old murder and how their lives can unravel at the tug of a thread. Quality watch.
Now I need to find S2 (2017), which isn't appearing on any streaming searches. -

@crucial think they're both on sky box sets aren't they?
Thanks but I don't get that. Most stuff appears elsewhere but there are a few things that fall into a hole I don't pay for.
I'll find a way.Have you seen both series? Is the second as good as the first?

Just caught the first episode of Killing Eve. Surprisingly very good. It has the horsey Asian lady from Grey’s Anatomy as an MI5 paper pusher who suspects that a female assassin is operating. She’s right. The assassin is pretty hot. Can’t imagine there will be any boobs sorry @jegga but good nonetheless.

I thought Sandra Oh was pretty cool in Sideways but I’d rather emasculate myself with a rusty cheese grater than sit through an episode of Greys anatomy . Will check that out , cheers.

@crucial well thought the first didn't end that well and the second seemed better, so guess you'll probably like that more!
I quite liked the ending of the first. It was no fairy tale and, to me, showed different outcomes that were both deserved and undeserved.
I really liked the DS Khan character. Very understated but believable. -

@bovidae wife & I got through Absentia this week, good series.
Obviously it was your mention of Stana Katic that got my attention...but glad I watched it.
Had some good twists, Emily still did some dumb shit, but I suppose people aren't always thinking clearly under pressure.

Another on Netlfix: Fallet. An English/ Swedish crime comedy about two bumbling cops investigating a murder.

Legion
I had read good things about this show so decided to watch S1 as S2 has just started on SoHo. I'm not a Marvel comic geek so wasn't familiar with the character but this show is one of the most unique and trippy TV shows I've seen. Jemaine Clement is brilliant as Oliver.

Watched The Defiant Ones on Netflix a few weeks back. Its a 4 episode documentary on the careers of Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine. Pretty dam interesting.
Related to that was another one the wife and started watching called Rapture. First episode on an artist called Logic was good. 2nd one not so much but some of the others look decent.

I've never been a fan of Ricky Gervais, but someone above mentioned his Humanity show on Netflix, so I had a watch.
Gold, some absolute gems throughout!
If you are an easily offended nancy, don't watch it, as that is largely what it is about!

He's my favourite comedian bar none!
I don't 'like' celebrity facebook pages but I did his and find myself laughing often.

loved the bit on nut allergies, and then some of his twitter fights....I should have stopped there.
