@chris-b I was watching the local stream. Cooper saw off the South African who had clearly tired and then Gaze swamped Hatherly (sp?) and caught Cooper with half a lap spare. He looked fresh as a daisy.

@antipodean Our local stream showed the replay of Gaze dismounting at the start-finish and Cooper and Hatherly disappearing into the distance - cut to the ads before he got back on his bike - by the time we came back from the fucking ad break Gaze had caught Cooper.

Not to mention the team and individual pursuit and the freestyle and medley relays so ideally suited to mountain biking. Full contact roller derby style racing would be a real crowd pleaser as well, again teams and individual categories.
