@taniwharugby not too far, might take you a while in that tractor though, once you get out of the slammer.

No complete footage of the women's final online? Would love to watch that, can only find scraps (mostly the winning try)

I couldn't find any of the men's either. Disgraceful, why don't TVNZ make it available instead of screening their regular shit

    Without vpn:
Not the complete footage of the women's and men's finals, but these highlights videos are the longest I've been able to find.

    All Blacks 7s v Fiji

    Found these on Daily Motion

    Mens

    Womens

It's the TVNZ feed with a fair few ads stuffed in - watched the Womens final in full as I missed it on Sunday, great game - NZ really should have closed it out in regular time except for a couple of errors. Niall Williams an absolutely superb chase, tackle and steal before Brazier's epic run.

@kiwipie Only just noticed the ridiculous comment before kick-off that both teams "are pretty much injury free for their frontline players". "Both at full strength for their gold medal match".

Clearly have no clue. The BF7s played the whole tournament without first choice players Ruby Tui (pulled very late due to mumps) and Kat Whata Simpkins, and for the final they had to bring in a 17-year old (Risi Pouri-Lane) because Tyla Nathan-Wong suffered a neck injury in the semis.

Thanks a lot, what a game!
A sidenote, the referee was ten times better than Rasta Rasivhenge, very few mistakes and very good communication.

Agree. Also called the "standing up without releasing the ball after a tackle" law which they are sometimes lax on in the sevens. The Women's game really has come on in recent years - and they are super fit.

That last try is quite funny to watch. It is like they are all running in treacle. Not often that a slow chase has two players so close together but just keeping at arms length. They must have all been knackered.

    @Stargazer Update:

Ol' mate who smacked Stannard was found to have acted in self-defence and is now suing for defamation:

Mr Oliver is now suing the Nine Network in the Federal Court over its TV news report of the case, which had the caption “No Penalty” and began with the newsreader saying “it was a coward punch that ended the career” of Stannard.

@antipodean Yes, I saw this on my twitter feed:

Englishman sues Nine Network over use of term 'coward punch'

Englishman sues Nine Network over use of term 'coward punch'

Sam Oliver, who was found not guilty last year of assaulting rugby sevens captain James Stannard, says the broadcaster defamed him.
