Barneys! I havent thought about that place in a while , quite the dive but it didn't have the crack house ambience of the Diner.

I always thought Liv was pretty hot myself but I think Angelina Jolie looks like Gollum with boobs so what do I know?

Jaysus, I tried to right this ship and get some class back into this thread but you bastards can turn anything into filth. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
it's a talent...
Barney's. Awesome. I reckon Liv goes alright, but she's hardly stunning. She's not close to the "Mrs Mariner has to let me hit that if the opportunity comes up" list.

Moneyball: Since I have a nerdish obsession with North American sports team management I absolutely loved this film. Watched it twice in a row. Sure certain parts were made up (though Bean and the A's manager didn't like each other was true) but I don't care. 9.5/10
Read the book. As usual there is much more information about how Billy Beane did what he did. Great story

The Last Stand - Big Arnie, Smaller Forest Whittaker and JOhnny KNoxville in a shoot em up film as a high ranking Cartel member orchestrates a elaboarte escape from prison and then has to drive hundreds of miles to the Mexican border in a 1000Horsepower Corvette stolen from a Car show while he has a small army building a bridge for his escape into Mexico just outside the little town where Arnie is the Sheriff, add in a couple of hot chicks...

I know, a plot that cannot fail right!

Went and saw "Olympus has Fallen" with a couple of lads last night. (for those that don't know, Nth Korean terrorists take over the White House, it's up to one man to save the day).

What can i say but

'Murica! wooooooo!!!!

This movie is so over the top, if it had been made in the '80s, people would have said "gee, that's a bit much isn't it?". It has so much testosterone, it is so manly, one of the chicks watching left the theatre pregnant. It ticks every single action cliche box. The director, and Gerard Butler, obviously watched "Die Hard" 47 times each to prepare for this movie.

But, for all that, i was entertained for just under 2 hours. Heaps (and i mean heaps) of fluffybunnys get shot in the head. Several get stabbed in the head. There are some "so over the top you have to laugh" moments, but ultimatly, it is what is says on the box, a brainless action movie. Probably not worth theatre prices to see though.

As an aside, i saw a trailer for something called "Dead Man Down". Can anyone tell me if Colin Farrell has ever been in a good movie? It had promise, but not sure i will bother.

I fell asleep watching that...which is saying something as I am a tragic who simply must watch a film to the end, no matter how crap and I havent found the desire to follow through with that one?

In a crap movie (Horrible Bosses) I thought Farrel was pretty good!

Watched Dredd lastnight, really enjoyed it thought Urban was great.
Simple but effective plot, only criticism would be it felt a tad too short, but in saying that it ran at a decent pace and had plenty of action.

Gangster Squad - few names (Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Sean Penn, JOsh Brolin, NIck Nolte) in this. Decent enough film, if not a bit slow.

Silver Linings Playbook - pretty decent Rom-Drama, predictable ending for the romance part of the genre, but story and acting was pretty good otherwise.

Sweeney: Was pretty good, but you kind of need subtitles half the time, and it sometimes feels like they're taking the piss with their (I assume) cockney-ness. Some parts were like a Brits version of Heat.

I am on a roll of shit movies at teh moment. I crashed out on the couch in front of "Wrath of the Titans" last night.

I knew it was going to be shit, the first one was shit, and the 2nd is never an improvement. They downgraded the hotness of the chick, made the monsters less interesting, and kept Sam Worthington.

Seriously, how the fuck did this guy make the jump from bricky to "action star"? He is atrocious.

This movie sucks, if you haven't seen, but thought you might maybe one day waste your time, don't. Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes must have really needed some money that week (i assume this was made in a week). I won't go into some of the outrageous shit like protecting yourself from fire by hiding behind a flimsy, dry wooden door, or being able to fly unscathed through a fucking lava monster.

I reckon they filmed the entire film in one take, cos Liam was rushing off to film his other career highlight, Taken (again) 2!

Never knew a movie could exist without a plot, but Rock of Ages proved otherwise. May as well have called it Hollywood Karaoke.

Watched Stand Up Guys on a long flight. Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin. The first 30 minutes were a bit slow, but then it really picked up. Good review of it here...
