Couldn't disagree more. Cringe inducing. Stereotype piled onto cliche liberally garnished with hackneyed comment served on a bed of totally predictable plot. Will give it one more week but only because its kiwi. 4/10 is generous iMO.
Really? I didn't see those two scumbags leaving their mate coming, also the kid killing people who had already given him the money was pretty out there too. I think we can both agree it could have done with more female nudity though. -
She was so bored she was left with no alternative but to end her misery <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Seriously tho. Copper suffers personal loss left to raise child on own cue exploration of tensions between being a good dad as kid evidences signs of depression versus duty as a cop - compounded by being able to influence results in professional life as personal circumstances spin out of control.

Its embarrassingly cliched. Cop show 101
Watched opener of Defiance and it's a kind of Deep Space Nine/Star Wars Canteena/Alien Nation western set here on Earth sometime in the future.

It's not that bad, might get better, but essentially it is sci-fi Deadwood without the swearing and Ian McShane.

I think I watch Ep2, now that you've mentioned it.

Got round to watching the first 3 of these and you are right. It's a good ole Western pretending not to be one. The Alien invasion aftermath has created the badlands frontier town run by a Mayor and with a Sheriff (only they call him 'Lawkeeper'). The guns are better than the old six shooters and shotties. The Indians are better because there's more of them and they come in different brands. Needs hotter women though and more tits.
It's an OK watch and, IMO, better than the likes of Revolution. Not sure if that's the program itself or because Grant Bowler is easy to watch for kiwis. He's actually quite good in it and suits the part. -
Revolution has grown on me, and I like the explanation for the power outage.

Maybe I need to catch up on it. I gave up as it wasn't keeping my attention. -
Meh.... prob not worth it if you didnt like it much initially.

But I think it is a good concept and the plot doesnt have as bigger holes as it was initially accused of IMO -
I'm still watching Revolution, not on my 'must watch' list, but still enjoying it.

the scheduling of Revolution (Arrow, PErson of Interest to name a couple) SUUUCKS! Where they had that 6-10 week break over Xmas, came back for a couple of weeks and then had another couple of weeks off, a show like Revolution (and Arrow which is dragging out, but still mindless fun) cant afford to lose momentum like that IMO. -
I'm quite enjoying Revolution. I like how they've been fleshing out the back story and how the girl has just become a fighting machine out to kill everyone.

There are some things that annoy me though, most of the early run of the show all the soldiers had muskets and now they all have modern weaponry. They kind of explain it with the power but the transition seemed to happen bloody fast.

I like Arrow too, but like Revolution I like learning the backstory as a focus.

I'll give ep 1 of Defiance a watch tonight. -
two series keeping the DK's interested Sherlock and The Following.

Mrs DK is turning into a Cumberbitch, as she has a bit of a thing for Benedict Cumberpatch. Watched the first two series of Sherlock over the long weekend and now we have to wait until September for Series 3 after the previous one ended on a cliff hanger.

The Following looks interesting after watching the Pilot and the first episode. Always good when there is a good 'baddie' -
I gave up on revolution when it became apparent that the highest priority of a collapsing civilisation was that women could still have the wherewithall to source and use make-up
the one thing that does turn me off a series quickly if everyone is "too pretty", especially in cop/crime shows and I imagine this would apply to post apocalyptic shows as well -
Search back in the thread and I think TR and I had a spoiler discussion about that Sherlock cliffhanger.
I think it was your discussions that triggered me to pay attention when Mrs DK was "finding the series on the internet" -

I think we are on the last ep of The Following, and I have enjoyed it, although a couple of things p!ss me off about it and is dragging a bit now, but then I guess that can be said of all TV shows, Purefoy's character is pretty chilling though.

Yeah Sherlock is great, am enjoying Elementary as well, it appears easy to capture the essence of Sherlock though...also about 2/3 the way through S1 of Grimm, which is pretty good, just a twist on your usual cop show really, Munro is the best character in it.

Ha, yeah, every FBI agent computer nerd etc on TV is rather good looking alright, but hey, if they were ugly munters with hair sprouting where they'd normally shave, who'd wanna watch that!! -
Really? That the line you suspend disbelief at? Not solving complex crimes in an amazing manner( usually in a couple of days) week after week, or the world ending with zombies or alien invasion?? But good looking people is just to 'silly'? -
I thought so too at that stage but for me it beame one of those series you follow because you've watched it all to daye but I can't wait for it to end. I think it became a bloated self-parody. Would have been great if they'd left half the episodes on the editing floor.

It reminded me of 24 which I thought was always dragged out but I realise that was a very popular show so I accept the issue is probably my low boredom threshold.
