    Here's one to quiz your kids with at Solo.

    Spot the actor making their sixth appearance in SW movies, playing a different character each time.

    Kids?? My kids laugh at fart jokes and punch each other. Not spotting acting quirks in sci fi movies. I blame their mother.

    OK then, big kids. (the ones that still laugh at fart jokes but also spot trivia in SW movies) 😉

    Apart from the seemingly endless bits of 'fan servicing' in Solo there are some fun references to other movies as well

    :::

    When getting chased through the Maw (very ESB like), Han refers to a trick taught to him by a drag racer called 'Needles' (Back to the Future) then, when they 'boost' the Falcon they do so through a fusion generator that looks very similar to the one Doc Brown installed on the DeLorean.

    Really enjoyed Solo. I thought there were enough connective moments to link to other movies.

    Acting wasn’t too bad either.

    Director of the brilliant Logan is on board.
    Let’s hope it avoids the off screen dramas of RO and Solo!

    There's still time to bring Taika on!

    Very, very entertaining.

    A worthy addition to the SW universe.

    Solo.

    Loved it.

    Had no problem with the new Han and Chewie was cool. Had enough tie-ins to old stuff along with new ideas.

    :::

    The old prequel character will have you working out timelines. Those that haven't followed the other canon pieces may be scratching their heads.

    :::

    I enjoyed it, it's probably the least Star Wars-y of the Star Wars films.

    Re: The spoiler

    :::

    Can some one explain it to me? On face value the time line doesn't work, unless he didn't die in which ever shitty prequel he died in. Obi Wan is much older than Han. Edit: Seems like I should have been watching The Clone Wars and Rebels.

    The pro droid stuff is going to piss some people off, I found it funny.

    Yup all is explained in The Clone Wars etc
    L3 was pretty entertaining, given the current climate I can see a lot of moaners using her story line as a reason to.. well moan.

    I didn't much like L3 to be honest, K2S0 did The funny droid thing much better. Is it sexist to say That? The character you mentioned didn't die and this is considered Canon. Pretty sure he tracks down Obi Wan at some stage. Does Palpatine know he is alive?

    I'd rate the flick on about a par with Rogue One. Some truly excellent action scenes and one liners. I felt the villain was a bit weak though.

    Not sure, it might get modded out of the thread though. I found her funny, didn't think this was as good as Rogue One though.

    Re: That character, yeah I just read up about it. I wonder how they decide what is considered canon or not now, they seem to make it up a bit.

    I'm finding it really hard to watch Khalessi playing adult roles because she just looks so young - weirdly, the oldest she looked was early game of thrones when she was supposed to be young.

    Thought Emilia Clarke did well, maybe being brunette rather than blonde helped.

    I'm not a blonde guy normally, but I much prefer her blonde.

    I reckon that will tie in with the Fett movie. I think the timeline works.

    That was way better than it had any right to be. Han was good, sometimes very good but his voice just wasn’t deep enough. Looked the part though.

    As expected, Don Glover stole every scene he was in. Would enjoy a Lando film.

    Jarvis was a bit underwhelming/not intimidating enough as the big bad. The original casting might of helped there.

    But overall, a good heist film. A good Star Wars film, probably have to say it was better than the Last Jedi by some distance.

    Left me wanting more.

    Ah righto. Agree entirely. He felt like a bit of a Bond villain. He's obviously a bit of a puppet for Spoiler though.
