Quite surprised at how well Takapuna Grammer are going so far this year in the harbour comp. Its out local school and they aren't really known for their rugby. 4/4 (including a win over Rosmini) and only unbeaten side along with Westlake (my old school). Will def try and catch the game between them in the next few weeks.

@jk yeah I know right through my schooling when we went to play Auckland schools we always got smashed, was more often down to size.
In my 1st 15 year we had a very good team, were the best team in Northland, but got smoked by Kelston, who were a good side then, but weren't the best in Auckland.
I know Kamo HS played Wesley up here that year too, and a young fella named Jonah pretty much destroyed them.

I remember at school the dilworth first and 2nd elevens got their fields mixed up. I was in our schools second and we ended up having a hard thought 1 nil win over their 1st eleven. We'd won every game convincingly til then and expected a walkover. Didnt find out it was their first side until after the game had finished. Meanwhile the dilworth 2nd eleven were getting punished and went down 24 nil

•2009 NZSS RUGBY REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP• If you're a Code head like me , you'll love this. Went digging through old photos and archives at home and came across this beauty of booklet - "National Regional Secondary School Rugby Championship" Featuring 4 teams including: 1. Blues Schools 2. Chiefs Schools 3. Hurricanes Schools 4. South Island Schools The tournament was held at Auckland Grammar and was taken out won by the Hurricanes Schools in the final over the Chiefs Schools. The level of talent at this tournament as you can see is unbelievable. I have worked out roughly 58% of the players at the tournament played Mitre 10, about 1/3 of the players have played Super Rugby and 12 players have pulled on the Black jersey. Below are some names that will be easily recognised: BLUES SCHOOLS - Steven Luatua, Bryn Hall, Gareth Anscombe, Francis Saili and Ofa Tuungafasi CHIEFS SCHOOLS - Nepo Laulala, Sam Cane and Charles Piutau HURRICANES SCHOOLS - Codie Taylor, TJ Perenara, Lima Sopoaga, Brad Weber and Beauden Barrett.
