    Found a great comment:

"Lando used to be my favourite character until I found out he fucked the Cloud City ice cream machine."

I took CF Jnr along to Solo today, and after watching I don't know what all the fuss you are making is about. Lando was not in a sexual relationship with his droid second mate, she was just a strong character talking jibber jabber. And when she "died" Lando displayed no less emotion and grief than Luke when R2-D2 got hurt in the original films. Granted I have not read anything outside what I've read on here, I only judged the film and the characters based on what I saw today

Back to the film, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Visually there was a lot of different stuff going on; from the grubby Corellia opening to the WWI trench warfare style of Solo's time fighting for the empire, to the snowy mountain heist, to the maelstrom scenes which reminded me of the asteroid field chase in Empire (nice re-use of the music too), and the desert world scenes at the end.

I enjoyed the characters, Harrelson was excellent, the guy playing the lead was good enough, Lando was in a similar lane to Billy Dee's dapper version, and Emilia Clarke and Paul Bethany were great. The blurred lines between good/evil and allegiances were handled far better than in ROJ's clumsy attempt using Del Toro. I got to see how Han got his name, how he met Chewie, how he won the Falcon off Lando, and even a little tie in with Darth Maul. Was the rebellion that Enfys Nest was going to fund using the coaxium The Rebellion?

The film felt the most like the original films than any of the others and I would put it at the top of the non-original 3 movie list, with RO. It was fun and not over-complicated, not too preachy, just a rollicking heist film. And there was no debate about whether Han fired first this time!!

4 cannisters of refined coaxium out of 5 long lost girlfriends turned bad

Mate, I've made it pretty clear I'm not parting with my hard earned to see the film. I presume that comment was based on the scriptwriter saying that Lando was pansexual and how important it was for him to have that kind of thing in Star Wars. Having established what a pansexual is, that's fucked up on so many levels.

I've been to see it and I still don't understand what a pansexual is!!!!!

Don't even bother Googling it. You'll be none the wiser.

Just googled. Did people involved in the movie say that it was their intention to make Lando this way? If they did I think they are taking the piss. He was just your typical metrosexual gangster with a love of fine clothing. No scenes of him trying to jump Lando or Qi'ra anywhere, not even implied

Google Lando Pansexual. The younger Kasdan (I'm sure he's there based on talent, no nepotism whatsoever) is disturbingly enthusiastic about it.

What a load of bollocks that is. If they want to make Lando a swinger who had sexual tension with Han it was missed on me

It wasn't in the film with Han, but they heavily hint at something with the droid.

    Yep. Hated that bit.

I was thinking with said Droid, Qu'ira, Woodys girlfriend and the leader of that gang of smugglers there were more strong females than a SJW could shake a stick at. I wonder if that'll appease the millennials?

I'm ok with it. At least they had more purpose than the Vietnamese chick in the last film. It's not 1977 so a little bit of diversity is de rigeur

If Roses purpose was to be the most irritating character in SW history she nailed it with aplomb.

Sorry Jar Jar, you're in second place now.

He was a poorly thought out irritating comic relief moron.

She on the other hand made me want to throw something at the movie screen. Her sappy line to Finn after knocking his speeder out of the way when he was heading towards the big laser ( seriously bitch, what the fuck, did you not hear about the sacrifices countless rebels made in Rogue One ? ) is about the most sickening line I've ever heard in any movie.

    Who hinted?

The droid was taking to Qi’ra in the falcon cockpit. She asked how that worked, and she replied in a dirty tone “Oh, it works”.

She was basically his sex droid.

They walked to the ship, the droid said something akin to the fact that Lando wanted her, much to Qi'ra's surprise. I took that and the exchange you mentioned as a giant pisstake by the droid, totally in character. Her pregnant pause, the only reason why she didn't roll her eyes was because she didn't have any

And you might have been right if the screenwriter didn’t come out and confirm Lando fucked the droid 🙂

Besides being stupid and not relevant for Star Wars? It’s essentially a kids film series, not Westworld.

I mean it almost feels like a stunt on the part of the film makers. After following RSs Google search I found one article where the younger Kasdan was all in with the idea of Lando's sexuality. His dad was far more ambiguous, publicity stunt gone wrong?
