Nothing wrong with a few nose beers after a game.

I couldn't give a rats if players do cocaine. It's a matter between him, the police and his employer.

Some people in NZ were whinging that Ali Williams was on the telly the other day. FFS, the guy seems like an absolute spanner, but he has a right to carry on with his life. it's different to someone like Veitch as well. Doing coke is basically harming yourself, but Veitch harmed someone else.

Which high profile players have been caught on coke? Ali Williams, James O'Conner, James Harrison, Wendell Sailor...

Trying to find a common thread here.

Cracking game between The Reds and Tahs. Bit of inexperience from the Reds outside backs probably the difference. Well, that and Folau.

Nice to see our handing skills and speed of execution have risen above "retarded water buffalo".

Most importantly: our First Grade had their first win of the season a couple of weeks back, and the Club donated $6500 to the Kids Hospital in memory of a club member's little girl, who died of neuroblastoma earlier in the year. Not even 2, poor little mite.

On Saturday we got done on the bell by a dropgoal. Fuck.

good to see some points scored in the Aussie conference

I did enjoy hearing Horan calling the 'tahs "clinical" completely ignoring the number of points they gave up.

Brumbies scored a few as well, and the Rebels had a win in NZ, so Wallabies should have some players bouncing in to camp this week.

Doesn't need it's own thread so this is probably the best spot. Our club had its old boys day, and 40th anniversary over the weekend. Sportsmans lunch on the friday had some interesting guests, including one of the judicial officers responsible for the two significant suspensions/non-suspensions, and one Michael Cheika.

Cheika was super impressive. Voluntarily gave his time to fly to the middle of nowhere for the afternoon, and talk passionately about rugby. Hearing him speak about the team away from a media trying to goad and lead him places they want to go was great. Pretty open and honest about the state of the team, particularly their fitness. Apparently this was the first year they have turned up for camp in the right shape, thanks to improvements in standards with the super team.

His chat was not long, but did have a quick chat to him one on one later and i have to say, my opinion has changed.

I think my favourite story was to do with the jersey. Because he never played test footy, he was at a disadvantage when he came in. He didn't know why they got two jerseys for each test, one for playing, one for swapping. He canned that, dropping it to one. Idea being you have to cherish every test jersey. You want to swap it? Fine, but it's your only one. Just thought it was interesting psychological decision

Has Rugby Australia found a new pot of gold or something? How else can they lure players back to Australia? First Matt Toomua, now Luke Jones (although they're not quite in the same category; Jones has only earned 3 test caps)?

Luke Jones to return to Melbourne in 2019; in Wallabies mix for Spring Tour

@stargazer doubt it very much whether a new pot has been found.

Keep in mind they ditched a Super team and therefore approximately 20% of contracts.

Now they're shitting it away on 5 year deals. Skin of their teeth, this lot.

Lol now Brett Papworth aka Pappy aka that mouthy fluffybunny who likes to lob grenades at anything that isn't 1980s and 90s club rugby as a development system is spruiking a new structure.

Unsurprisingly, Alan Jones is involved, along with some other old farts who are like minded.

They quoted the current president of RUPA (Tahs hooker Damien Fitzpatrick) as supporting them, which turned out like this:

They need to work on their press releases. The Papworth letter was very long without much content

So basically they want power to go back to the clubs? Whats the new org they talk about creating? Is this a coup to set up a rival ARU?

No, it's a bullshit, empty promise of the old guard who think that what worked back in the 90s will be just fine today and into tomorrow.

    Ouch

Analysis: The Wallabies have reached the peak of delusion

Analysis: The Wallabies have reached the peak of delusion

Cheika talks of how his team plays attacking rugby and how they throw the ball around. It’s disorganised rugby. It’s dumb rugby. It’s amateur rugby. The Wallabies whip the ball around but are so technically poor in so many areas it’s dysfunctional.
