How to make the All Blacks perfect: Part 1: Brumby Mode

How has this not made the 'Good Rugby Reads' thread before.
I don't always agree with the analysis but it makes for really interesting reading and is a notch above the G&GR stuff which drifts way too eagerly into finger pointing.

If only it were that easy

@mikethesnow that's the thing...having a plan to do something is one thing, effectively implementing it and see it actually work and having the human element to it as well makes it harder.

I think iits fair to say the Allblacks have led the world in coming up with fresh ideas , and a continual evolving gameplan ,

So while you may spot something you think you can exploit , doesnt always mean it will still be there as much when it comes time to play them, if you are planning for down the track

Me too! Glorious day in Auckland, blue skies, good weather, should suit an open game with dry conditions. I'm super excited - have the AB jersey out and can't wait to head down to the ground.

French look better than their 24.5 point head start - and certainly better than 10:1 the TAB is offering. I maintain that about 13 of our 15 is strong, and then our bench is not what it was. Injury or cards, and we could be in trouble. This season and last have really tested our depth, which will hopefully stand us in good stead for RWC19, rather than mean we limp into the tourney without a settled first XV.

          Go you ABs.

You've gone to almost every game at Eden Park this year? Same.. A home team victory at Eden Park would make a pleasant change

              More than I'd like 😐

Didn't renew the season ticket, but did wind up there most nights. I still feel slightly ill.

Still, the Blues got up over the Lions last year with the best feeling at the park since the early 2000's, so we've got that I guess.

Not to detract from high levels of NZ rugby intellect combined with athletes able to execute those ideas but trialling new laws in the SH before the NH will always lead an advantage

@mikethesnow Not always the case, the new ruck etc laws were introduced up north first. ABs first game under them was after a full season for NH last year. However it is normally because our unions are not too conservative to agree with trials, which are rejected up north.

I stand in awe of random internet guy who has discovered the chink in the All Blacks' armour, when for the last 11 years the world's most skilled, full time, highly paid analysts have not been able to reach the same conclusion. Damn. Sign him up.

                      True.

                      True.

And my point still stands. More fool the NH unions.

I remember 2009 matey, we don't always get them first. The ABs came off the ELV in Super, and straight into the French series played under the old laws from the NH. Lost the first test and didn't playw ell...

maybe Steddie has been so focussed on getting England right for beating the ABs he forgot about all the games in between, and if the ABs change thier game plan, he'll be 69.32566% more fucked
